摘要: A high-performance, modular, multipurpose, cartridge-based, liquid dispensing air freshener system that uses at least one refillable or disposable liquid filled cartridge. It can also use fixed tanks and dispense pesticides or any other liquid that can be vaporized. This programmable device can use an unlimited number of cartridges to discharge numerous different fragrances of which can be dispensed separately or mixed. A variety of chassis size and shape configurations can be used, such as a micro-sized unit that allows extreme portability so that it can be used in cars, at office desks or easily carried around in a pocket or purse; it can also function as a compact plug-in air freshener. Cartridges can be automatically selected so that the system can dispense a different scent for different time intervals or mix scents. It can be built into an automotive dash panel or designed to fit into a car style stereo slot.

摘要: A gun mount having a gun cover or shield contains a gun which may be directed in both azimuth and elevation. An ammunition storage space is disposed below the gun mount. Ammunition components are combined in the storage space to provide an ammunition round with the long axis of the round substantially vertical. The barrel of the gun is elevated to the 90.degree. or vertical position and when the breech block is opened the vertically disposed ammunition round is hoisted directed into the open breech. The round is latched in the breech while the hoisting mechanism is withdrawn and the breech is closed. Thereafter the gun may be depressed to a desired firing elevation and the round fired. The gun is then positioned at a predetermined intermediate elevation angle so that the gun breech is adjacent to a door in the gun cover which is controlled between open and closed positions. The breech is opened, the door is opened and the empty propellant case from the fired round is ejected through the open door. The gun is then repositioned to the vertical position to receive another round in the breech and the process is repeated. Conventional length ballistic projectiles and ultra-long guided projectiles may be handled by the disclosed loading system and the loading may be accomplished at any angle or azimuth or train.

摘要: A clamp for securing an adjustable bar hanger to a molded thermosetting plastic electrical wiring box. The clamp includes a generally U-shaped portion having a deformable tab directed into the region defined by the U-shaped portion and a pair of side flanges integral with and on opposite sides of the U-shaped portion. A bar hanger is positioned within the U-shaped portion of the clamp and the wiring box is oriented with respect to the clamp and bar hanger assembly so that the bar hanger is captured between the clamp and a rear wall of the wiring box and the clamp is spaced a slight distance from the rear wall of the wiring box. Screws are then inserted through openings provided in the rear wall of the wiring box and threaded into corresponding threaded openings provided in the flanges of the clamp. As the screws advance into the openings in the flanges, the clamp is drawn toward the wiring box, causing the deformable tab of the U-shaped portion to deform and move in a direction away from the wiring box and toward the U-shaped portion of the clamp. The deformation of the tab serves to distribute the torque or energy applied to the screws throughout the entire clamp in a manner so as to prevent damage to the wiring box, such as cracking or shattering.

摘要: Signal modulation apparatus for the transmission of binary data signals edying a process which results in superior side-lobe suppression compared with other forms of modulation such as frequency shift keying. The apparatus generates two carrier waves, the difference between whose frequencies is an integral multiple of the data signal bit-rate, amplitude modulates the two waves by a low-pass filtered data signal and an inverted version thereof respectively and then sums the resulting modulated waveforms to produce a frequency keyed waveform having continuous phase and almost negligible envelope ripple. The apparatus can be used with most forms of digital communication systems and may be demodulated by a conventional receiver such as ratio detector or phase-locked loop.

摘要: A submarine weapon handling system and method includes a storage tray, ramming tray, and transfer tray. Each tray has a plurality of rotatable bands received in grooves in the trays and are movable between an open weapon receiving position and a closed weapon clamping position. The storage tray and ramming tray are stationary and the transfer tray is movable. The transfer tray is moved into contact with a weapon secured in the storage tray, the bands of the transfer tray are rotated around the weapon, and the bands in the storage tray are rotated from closed to open position permitting the transfer tray to move a selected weapon into the bands of the ramming tray which are then rotated into weapon clamping position while the bands of the transfer tray are opened permitting the transfer tray to be moved away from the ramming tray.

摘要: A service mechanism for a shipboard missile vertical launch system has a base assembly which rides on a set of parallel tracks spanning a missile housing array. A carriage assembly is mounted for movement along the base assembly in a direction normal to the tracks. A portion of the carriage assembly is disposed for 360.degree. rotation about a vertical axis. A cradle elevator is mounted for movement on vertically running tracks on the rotatable portion of the carriage assembly. A cradle is adapted to engage and hold a missile cannister and is rotatably mounted on the cradle elevator to dispose the missile cannister with its long axis in either a vertical or a horizontal position. The cradle includes a hoist pawl which is adapted to engage one end of the missile cannister to raise or lower the cannister in the cradle when the long axis is disposed vertically. The base assembly is hinged intermediate its ends so that when the vertical launching system is not being serviced the carriage assembly may be positioned adjacent to one end of the base assembly and the other end of the base assembly may be folded upwards to lie alongside the carriage assembly. With the cradle elevator lowered and the cradle disposed in a vertical condition, the base assembly is secured to an elevator which lowers the serice mechanism to a stowed position below the ship's deck.
