Abstract: Various examples are directed to providing thermal management to a computing device. The computing device may receive temperature state data describing a temperature state of the computing device. The temperature state may comprise a first temperature value at a first location at the computing device. The computing device may also receive use state data describing a first use state of the computing device. The first use state may comprise an initial operating condition of a first component of the computing device and an initial operating condition of a second component of the computing device. The computing device may determine that at least one temperature value at the computing device is out-of-range and select a second use state for the computing device. The second use state may comprise at least one of a new operating condition for the first component or a new operating condition of the second component.

Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) device includes a first housing and a second housing rotatably coupled to the first housing. The first housing includes a camera oriented in a first direction, one or more microphones oriented in the first direction, one or more first lighting elements oriented in the first direction, one or more second lighting elements oriented in a second direction, one or more third lighting elements oriented in a third direction, and one or more first contacts. The second housing includes a loudspeaker oriented in a fourth direction and one or more second contacts configured to engage with the one or one first contacts. An engagement between the one or more first contacts and the one or more second contacts communicatively couples the loudspeaker to computing components with the first housing.

Abstract: A video capture device may include multiple cameras that simultaneously capture video data. The video capture device may include one or more motion sensors that track the motion of the video capture device during video capture. Using the motion data, motion vectors can be calculated and used by an encoder to compress and encode a stream of video data. The motion vectors calculated for one stream of video data can then be used to compress and encode a second stream of video data due to the symmetry of a first camera that captured the first video stream and a second camera that captured the second video stream. The video capture device and/or remote computing resources may stitch together the first and second video streams to generate a panoramic video.

Abstract: A video capture device may include multiple cameras that simultaneously capture video data. The video capture device and/or one or more remote computing resources may perform video stabilization to the video data to reduce unwanted camera shake. The video capture device may include one or more motion sensors that track the motion of the video capture device. Using the motion data, video stabilization algorithms can be executed on a first video stream to calculate stabilizing adjustments for the video stream. The stabilization adjustments can then be used to stabilize a second video stream due to the fixed positioning of a first camera that captured the first video stream and a second camera that captured the second video stream. The video capture device and/or the remote computing resources may stitch together the first and second video streams to generate a digitally stabilized panoramic video.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for improving encoding techniques for mobile devices by adaptively controlling a resolution or frame rate of content to reduce power consumption while maintaining image quality. For example, a local device may determine when the content may be downscaled without degrading a final image quality and may downscale the content prior to encoding and transmitting the encoded content to a remote device. The remote device may decode and upscale the content to the original resolution prior to displaying the content on a display. As downscaling the content is not power intensive, the local device may reduce a power consumption associated with encoding and transmitting the content to the remote device while maintaining the final image quality of the content.
