    摘要: System and method for preserving food. Embodiments of the system include a food compartment to store food and a user interface configured to receive user input relating to the preservation of the food stored. The system also includes a humidity sensor configured to sense a humidity level, an ozone generator configured to generate ozone gas, an ozone sensor configured to sense an ozone level and a gas sensor configured to sense a level of residual gases inside the food compartment. The system further includes a controller, responsive to the user interface, the humidity sensor, the ozone sensor and the gas sensor. In one embodiment, the controller preserves the food stored in the food compartment as a function of the user input, the humidity level, the ozone level, the residual gas level and as a function of a type of the food stored in the food compartment.

    摘要: A manifold receives and distributes insulating foam to an interior of a consumer appliance case. The manifold includes an inlet attachable to a source of insulating foam exterior to the consumer appliance case, at least two outlets disposed at different locations within the consumer appliance case, an inlet passageway leading from the inlet further into the consumer appliance case interior, and at least two outlet passageways, each outlet passageway providing communication between the inlet passageway and a respective one of the outlets. Insulating foam received by the inlet is distributed to the interior of the consumer appliance case via the inlet passageway, outlet passageways and outlets. Related foamed-in case designs and methods of foaming-in a case are also disclosed.

    摘要: In accordance with an aspect of the disclosure, there is provided an ice service refrigerator comprising an ice maker and a food preservation compartment containing an evaporator. The ice maker includes a mold, an ejector for discharging ice pieces from the mold and a controller for periodically initiating operation of the ice maker through an ice making cycle and an ice harvesting cycle. The refrigerator further comprises a refrigeration system including a compressor, a condenser, a conduit flow line, a first valve, a second valve, an ice maker coil, a first cap tube, a second cap tube, and at least one evaporator connected in selectively closed series flow relationship. The ice maker coil is attached to the ice maker mold and includes a heat exchange relationship with the ice maker mold. The refrigerator also comprises circuitry including the controller for closing the first valve to conduct refrigerant through the condenser, the first cap tube, the ice maker coil, and the at least one evaporator during the ice making. The circuitry includes the controller for opening the first valve and closing the second valve to conduct refrigerant through the ice maker coil, the second cap tube, and the at least one evaporator during the ice harvesting.
