摘要: A proppant pack may be formed in a fracture that extends from a wellbore formed in a subterranean formation is accomplished through different methods. The methods involve providing multiple spaced apart proppant slugs with in a hydraulic fracturing fluid that is introduced into the wellbore at a pressure above the fracturing pressure of the formation.

摘要: A method for estimating properties of a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore provides for injecting a fluid with the plurality of tracer agents wherein each tracer agent is an object of submicron scale, into the wellbore and formation, flowing the fluid back from the subterranean formation and determining the properties of the formation. The properties are determined by analyzing changes in the tracers size and type distribution function between the injection fluid and produced fluid.

摘要: A material and method for treating a fractured formation penetrated by a wellbore includes providing a quantity of resin coated particles having a particle size of from about 0.2 mm to about 2.35 mm. A quantity of smaller deformable or non-deformable particles is combined with the resin coated particles to form a generally uniform consolidated particle pack when mixed together and subjected to at least one of heat and pressure. A slurry of the particles is formed with a carrier fluid capable of suspending the particles. The slurry of particles is introduced into the wellbore of the formation. The resin coated particles and smaller deformable particles thus may form a consolidated particle pack in at least a portion of the fractures of the formation.

Each tracer agent is an object of submicron scale. The location and distribution of the treatment fluid is determined by detecting changes in the physical properties of the formation caused by the arrival of the treatment fluid comprising a plurality of tracer agents.
