摘要: System and methods of petrophysical modeling are disclosed. Measurements of formation parameters are received from one or more measurement tools during a first stage of a downhole operation within a reservoir formation. A correlation between each of the formation parameters and a target parameter of the formation is determined based on the measurements. One or more formation parameters are selected as input parameters for a symbolic regression model, based on the correlation. A symbolic regression model is trained to generate candidate formation models representing the target parameter, based on the selected input parameters. One or more optimizations are applied to the candidate models to determine a target petrophysical model of the formation. Values of the target parameter are estimated for at least one formation layer, based on the target petrophysical model. A second stage of the downhole operation is performed within the formation layer(s) based on the estimated values.

摘要: A system for electrical treatment in a reservoir with gas wells is disclosed. The system includes a first well in the reservoir configured to act as an electrode, the reservoir having a plurality of pore spaces saturated by water, and a second well in the reservoir configured to act as a second electrode hydraulically connected to the first well. A power unit is connected to the first and second wells by a cable configured to emit an electric current to the first well and the second well into the reservoir. The electric current enlarges the plurality of pore spaces in the reservoir, facilitating a production of gas from the water. A transformer is connected to the power unit by the cable, the transformer being configured to step down a voltage from a power supply to the power unit. The power supply is connected to the transformer by the cable.

摘要: Formulations and methods for stimulating the production from wells in nano-darcy shale formations. In one embodiment, the method includes injecting a treatment mixture containing a metal complexing agent into a nano-darcy shale formation adjacent to a well at a pressure below the fracture pressure of the formation. A sufficient contact time is allowed and then the treatment mixture is pumped from the subsurface. This has been shown to stimulate well production in shale formations. Without being held to a particular theory it appears that the metal complexing agent is binding with naturally occurring metals in the shale formation, and particularly divalent metal ions, which are then extracted with the spent fluid. This removal of naturally occurring metals may be increasing the permeability of the formation in the contact region adjacent to the well, thereby causing the observed increased production.

摘要: Systems and methods include a method for determining perforation cluster points of a reservoir. A rock type of a geological formation of a reservoir is determined using petrophysical data. The transmissible sublayers of the reservoir are determined by grouping the petrophysical data into different subset transmissible layers based on cut-off criteria. Net transmissible reservoir footage for the transmissible sublayers are generated based on averages of parameters for minimum and maximum measured depths. Potential stages for the reservoir are determined using a conditional formatting on the transmissible reservoir footage. Potential perforation cluster points selected based on the potential stages for the reservoir are received from input of an engineer.

摘要: A controlled rate of propagation of the fluid saturation front or thermal front is desired in may oil and gas and geothermal operations. Natural fractures and fractures created during hydraulic stimulation may have heterogeneous hydraulic properties resulting in uneven flow distributions, therefore leading to short-circuiting and breakthrough issues. The present invention relates to wellbores connected hydraulically by multiple fracture zones; methods are directed to control for even flow distribution among fractures, regardless of heterogeneities in fracture hydraulic properties, and to control propagation of saturation fronts and thermal fronts in subsurface reservoirs.

摘要: Formulations and methods for stimulating the production from wells in nano-darcy shale formations. In one embodiment, the method includes injecting a treatment mixture containing a metal complexing agent into a nano-darcy shale formation adjacent to a well at a pressure below the fracture pressure of the formation. A sufficient contact time is allowed and then the treatment mixture is pumped from the subsurface. This has been shown to stimulate well production in shale formations. Without being held to a particular theory it appears that the metal complexing agent is binding with naturally occurring metals in the shale formation, and particularly divalent metal ions, which are then extracted with the spent fluid. This removal of naturally occurring metals may be increasing the permeability of the formation in the contact region adjacent to the well, thereby causing the observed increased production.
