Abstract:
The present invention concerns a system for loading and unloading loose cargo, such as preferably pieces of luggage or the like, in a cargo hold of a plane, including conveying the loose cargo towards the inner end of the cargo hold during loading, or away from it during unloading, and including transport of the loose cargo between the level of the tarmac and the cargo hold opening. The loose cargo may during loading be conveyed into the fuselage in a direction transversal to the longitudinal axis of the plane and also in the longitudinal direction of the plane, and deposited, in the cargo hold. Loose cargo conveyed back into the plane of the cargo hold opening during unloading may be conveyed off transversely to the longitudinal axis of the plane through the cargo hold opening. Moreover the invention proposes intermediate conveyor means herefor.

Abstract:
Device for loading packages into a cargo hold (3) particularly of an aircraft, wherein loading is effected through a conveyor (4) including a plurality of transport paths (41-43). This conveyor is progressively loaded with packages and moved into the rear area of the cargo hold (3). In order to absorb the longitudinal peak forces possibly occurring particularly during loading and unloading, longitudinal beams (7 and 8) are provided which are mounted on the floor side and support the deflection means (6) against the fixedly mounted drive means (5). Hereby the occurring longitudinal forces may effectively be absorbed within the loading system without the aircraft fuselage (1) being weakened through additional holding means in particular in the side wall area, or even damage being caused to the hull of the aircraft.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a netting arrangement for a cargo hold, in particular in an airplane, comprising: at least one netting including a plurality of fixation points preferably formed on an edge side, a plurality of fixation points formed on the cargo hold side, and at least one adapter for securing the netting in the cargo hold. The adapter is secured to at least two fixation points on the cargo hold side so as to divert a load applied to the adapter into the at least two fixation points on the cargo hold side. The adapter is arranged in the path of force between the netting fixation points preferably formed on an edge side and the fixation points on the cargo hold side. The adapter furnishes at least one adapter-side fixation point for securing the netting to the adapter. The fixation points for the netting are arranged in a plane identical with the plane of the adapter-side fixation points, independently of the load applied on the netting. In the condition where no load is applied on the netting, the netting is situated in the same plane as the adapter-side fixation points. The invention moreover relates to an adapter, preferably for use with a like netting arrangement.

Loose cargo (6) conveyed back into the plane of the cargo hold opening during unloading may be conveyed off transversely to the longitudinal axis of the plane through the cargo hold opening. Moreover the invention proposes intermediate conveyor means (2) herefor. Furthermore the present invention specifies further alternatives for the system and also for the intermediate conveyor means and conveyor unit, respectively.
Abstract:
An arrangement for loading of a cargo compartment (3), in particular that of an aircraft fuselage (1), with piece goods, is proposed, consisting of a conveying device (9) in the form of a number of high-tensile belts (10) located at intervals from one another and which are provided with a carpet-like conveying surface (18), for instance in nylon fabric, in that section of them which covers the cargo area of the cargo compartment (3) in the fully-loaded position. A rear cargo wall (23) fixed to the belts (10) provides the rear storage room limit for the goods transported. Loading and unloading can be performed by means of movement backwards and forwards of the belts (10). Since tensile loadings are concentrated exclusively in the belts (10), reversal can be performed in the vicinity of the loading aperture (5) of the cargo compartment (3) on a thin guide section located near the floor, which can be designed to accord with any contour of the floor (14) of the cargo compartment (3). There thus results a design for the conveying device (9) in the form of a carpet which fluidly adapts itself to any contour on which the goods transported can be safely and reliably conveyed into and out of the cargo compartment (3).

Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for controlling the operation of an actuator unit, comprising the steps: a) repeatedly reading the current fed to the actuator unit, b) a first comparison wherein the readings are compared with a first maximum level and if the readings are above the maximum level the electrical power fed to the actuator unit is cut off, c) a second comparison wherein two successive readings repeatedly are compared with each other and if the differences between the readings are below a first ramp level a number a steady state condition for the current fed to the actuator unit is detected, and d) if steady state is detected setting at least one overload detection limit on basis of a steady state reading of the current fed to the actuator unit. The invention also concerns a device for carrying out the method and a conveyor incorporating the device.
