Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to fenestrations exhibiting coastal impact performance. In an embodiment, a fenestration unit includes a frame assembly forming a first lower corner and a second lower corner. A first sill corner bracket can fit on a top of a sill and extend from the first lower corner partway along the top of the sill and partway along one side jamb of the frame assembly. A second sill corner bracket can be configured to fit on the top of the sill and extend from the second lower corner partway along the top of the sill and partway along the other side jamb. A bottom sash can include a bottom rail defining a channel to receive at least a portion of the first corner bracket and the second corner bracket therein when the bottom sash is in the closed position. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to hollow profiles and methods of preparing the same for joining operations. A method herein can include placing a dam within a channel defined by the hollow profile, fitting a die block over an end of the channel, and injecting a flowable composition through an injection port into the channel. Another method can include defining a volume within a first member using at least one flow control device, filling the defined volume with a flowable polymeric composition, allowing the flowable polymeric composition to solidify to form a solid portion in the first member, and mechanically modifying the solid portion to define a joining surface suitable for joining to the second member. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to structural assemblies for fenestration units including a fastener system for leak resistant structural member attachment. In an embodiment, a frame assembly for a fenestration unit is included having a first frame member and a second frame member, wherein the second frame member engages with the first frame member. The frame assembly further includes a leak resistant fastener assembly securing the second frame member to the first frame member. The leak resistant fastener assembly can include a threaded fastener, a shoulder element, a deformable sealing member, and a washer. Insertion of the threaded fastener into the first frame member and the second frame member causes the washer to compress the deformable sealing member forming a face seal and causes the shoulder of the threaded fastener to expand the deformable sealing member radially forming an edge seal. Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to methods for attachment of a retention member to an insulating glazing unit, resulting structures, and systems for the accomplishing the same. In some embodiments, a method of attaching a retention member to an insulating glazing unit can include placing a spacer unit between a first pane of glass and a second pane of glass to form the insulating glazing unit and applying an adhesive composition to at least one of a perimeter of the insulating glazing unit and the retention member. The method can further include mounting the retention member onto perimeter edges of at least one of the first pane and the second pane. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to sill cleats for fenestration systems. In an embodiment, a fenestration system is included having a frame assembly including a sill with a bottom side. The bottom side can include a first edge projection, a second edge projection, and can define a cavity. The system can also include a sill cleat with a first angled surface configured to engage the first edge projection upon movement of the sill in a first direction.
