    摘要: A corner connector for connecting adjacent hollow intermediate frames used in the construction of insulated glass panels. The corner connector includes a two-part body having a flexible mid-portion. One end of each body portion has a retaining arm. When each retaining arm of each corner connector positioned along a longitudinal center connected to an intermediate frame it holds or secures the hollow intermediate frames together. The two hollow intermediate frames can then be moved toward each other to form a ninety degree angle therebetween. The resilient mid-portion of the body of the corner connector may be locked in place to maintain that perpendicular relationship. Therefore four intermediate frames may be positioned along the same longitudinal line during manufacturing.

The corner sets fit into openings at corners between adjacent frame sections. The frame assembly includes corner braces that snap lock over a corner between adjacent frame sections. The corner braces fit over exterior surfaces of the frame sections forming the frame assembly. The corner brace snaps into grooves in the exterior surfaces of the frame sections. The frame assembly includes a corner member that engages to an outer flange of joining frame sections. The corner member spans the corner between the joining frame sections.

    摘要: A method of joining two components of a vinyl frame provides first and second components each having an end and having surfaces defining at least one channel open at the end and extending into the associated component. A coupling structure is provided and has at least a first member and a second member and includes energy receiving structure. The first member is inserted to extend at least partially into the channel of the first component and the second member is inserted so as to extend at least partially into the channel of the second component so that the energy receiving structure is generally adjacent to certain surfaces defining the associated channel. Energy is directed to the coupling structure to cause the energy receiving structure to fuse with the certain surfaces, thereby joining the first and second components together. Improved component sealing and water pathways are also provided.

The second arm includes a recess (44) adjacent the joint, and a deformable projection (46) projecting from an edge of the open face of the recess inwardly toward the bottom of the recess. The first arm includes a securement projection (38) protruding from adjacent the joint (15) that is receivable within the recess of the second arm alongside the deformable projection. The deformable projection is deformed by the securement projection and exerts a compressive force on the securement projection to releasably secure the first and second arms in a desired angular orientation.
