Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to screen assemblies for fenestration units configured to reduce corrosion issues. In an embodiment, a screen assembly is included having a frame, the frame defining a spline channel; a mesh, the mesh can include a peripheral edge, wherein the peripheral edge is disposed within the spline channel; a spline, wherein the spline is fitted within the spline channel and holds the peripheral edge in place; and a polymeric barrier layer, wherein the polymeric barrier layer separates at least one of the mesh and the frame, the mesh and the spline, or the frame and the spline from electrical contact with one another. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: A laminated glass retention system for securing a laminated glass subassembly within a window sash or frame member or door panel or similar component includes a retention member applied to the laminated glass subassembly. The retention member generally can include a leg portion that engages of the laminated glass subassembly, and can further include a base portion that is coupled to the frame member in which the laminated glass subassembly is seated. The retention member helps retain the insulating glass subassembly within its frame member when subjected to high winds and wind-borne debris.

The fenestration frame can include an exterior subunit. The exterior subunit can define a receiving channel. The fenestration frame can also include an interior subunit, wherein the interior subunit fits within the receiving channel. the interior subunit can include particles and/or fibers and a polymer resin. In some embodiments the exterior subunit can be a pultrusion while the interior subunit can be an extrusion. Other embodiments are also included herein.
