摘要: A thermometer having a temperature sensing element connected to a processor and a display. The processor can receive signals from the temperature sensing element related to the temperature of a patient. The processor and temperature sensing element are enclosed within in the thermometer. The temperature sensing element is adjacent a highly conductive cover defining a temperature probe. The temperature probe includes gold or gold alloy on an outer surface thereof. The outer surface contacts the user and the gold covered probe acts as a hypoallergenic heat transfer element between the user and the temperature sensing element. The gold tip can be used with a glass-tube thermometer or an electronic thermometer.

摘要: An axillary thermometer for measuring the temperature of a patient comprising a first disk-shaped member having a circumferential edge, and an upper portion and lower portion, that is integrally connected, and angularly situated, via a connecting member joint, to a second disk-shaped member having a top side and a bottom side. The top side of the second disk-shaped member, including an actuation switch and display, being proximate the upper portion of the first disk-shaped member such that viewing of the temperature display can be simultaneously accomplished with the temperature taking process. The first disk-shaped member further having at least one temperature sensor along its circumferential edge of the upper portion with the at least one temperature sensor being connected to at least one temperature sensing circuitry.

摘要: The invention includes a thermometer with a backlight and a method for lighting the backlight. The thermometer has temperature sensing tip, a processor taking temperature readings and determining a sensed temperature reading of the living being from the temperature sensing tip. The thermometer also includes a display and a backlight for lighting the display. The backlight is activated upon a command from the processor and the processor determines whether a decrease in the temperature readings exceeds or is equal to a predetermined threshold in order to activate the backlight. The method embodiment can includes the steps of using the processor to monitor a temperature change indicated by a temperature sensing element. The processor then detects a temperature decrease and activates a first color light emitting element to backlight a display if the temperature decrease exceeds or equals a predetermined threshold.

摘要: Several embodiment of an exercycle which is suspended by floatation devices just below the surface of the water, requires the user to exercise both upper and lower body portions to work the cycle while maintaining balance in the water. The aquatic equilibrium cycle can be used for muscle toning, physical therapy or competition. Some embodiments employ a foot pedal having hinged wings which produce an octopus-type propulsion to move the cycle in a forward direction. Some embodiments allow the adjustment of the magnitude of floatation force to accommodate the body size of the particular end user.

摘要: A vaporizer for providing water vapor at a safer and reduced temperature comprises a water tank and steam generating unit. The steam generating unit is an assembly of a multi-walled chamber, top cover portion and safety grill. The safety grill establishes a distance between a water vapor outlet situated on the top cover portion and the point where an individual may contact the water vapor. This distance allows the temperature of the water vapor to be reduced to a safer temperature. Additionally, the vaporizer includes a condensation recycling port that receives water vapor droplets that form about the steam generating unit and returns those droplets to a boiling chamber where the water droplets are recycled into water vapor. Finally, the top cover portion includes a water barrier to protect electrical components near the water vapor outlet.
