摘要: A changeover valve comprises a first valve member and a second valve member. The first value member has an aperture. The second valve member has first and second apertures. The first valve member is movable relative to the second valve member for selective alignment of the first value member aperture with one or other of the apertures of the second valve member. The value also has a ramp and follower means for automatically moving the valve member away from the one another during changeover movement of the first valve member relative to the second valve member so that wear on the surfaces of the valve members is minimized.

摘要: The invention provides a vacuum cleaner having a dirty air inlet, a clean air outlet and dirt and dust separating apparatus lying in an air flow path therebetween, wherein the air flow path has a substantially uniform cross-sectional area between the dirty air inlet and the separating apparatus and between the separating apparatus and the clean air outlet. The uniformity of the cross-sectional area reduces frictional losses and reduces pressure drops within the cleaner. Some portions of the air flow path are preferably removable from the cleaner to allow access for maintenance and removal of blockages.

摘要: The invention provides a cleaner head assembly for a vacuum cleaner comprising a cleaner head body pivotably attachable to a main body of a vacuum cleaner and a brush housing pivotably mounted on the cleaner head body, the brush housing having a suction opening and a brush bar mounted therein, wherein the brush housing comprises a sealed unit connectable to a vacuum cleaner air inlet via a conduit separate from the cleaner head body. The arrangement allows the brush housing to be doubly articulated with respect to the main body of the vacuum cleaner whilst the suction opening remains in a horizontal plane without requiring the use of seals which must be able to accommodate the articulation of the brush housing.

摘要: The invention provides apparatus (10) for separating dirt or dust from an airflow including a frustoconical cyclone (12) having a tangential air inlet (16) located at or adjacent the end of the cyclone having the larger diameter and a cone opening (18) located at the end of the cyclone having the smaller diameter. 摘要: The invention provides apparatus for separating dirt or dust from an airflow, comprising a collector (32) having an outer wall (32a) forming an air-rotational surface, an inner wall (34a), an airflow inlet for introducing the airflow substantially tangentially to the outer wall (32a), an airflow outlet for removing air from the collector (32), and at least one fin or baffle (30) positioned within the collector (32), characterized in that the or each fin or baffle (30) is located on the inner wall (34a) of the collector (32) and projects outwardly therefrom. The presence of the fins or baffles (30) on the inner wall (34a) discourages re-entrainment of dirt and dust particles remaining within the separation apparatus after the airflow therethrough has been discontinued.
