Abstract: A cement composition for sealing leaks in a wellbore includes at least one of an alkali and a transition metal oxide and an acid. A method for using the cement composition includes pumping the at least one of an alkali and a transition metal oxide and an acid as separate components into a wellbore so that a setting reaction begins after pumping is initiated.
