    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode physical broadcast channel (PBCH) information received from a base station (BS). The decoded PBCH information includes a scrambled PBCH payload and an unscrambled bit sequence. A scrambling sequence is generated based on time information signaling within the unscrambled bit sequence. The scrambled PBCH payload is de-scrambled using the scrambling sequence, to obtain master information block (MIB) information. System information block (SIB) information is decoded based on the MIB information. The decoded PBCH information includes cyclic redundancy check (CRC) information. The scrambled PBCH payload and the unscrambled bit sequence can be verified based on the CRC information. The time information signaling includes one or more bits of a system frame number (SFN).

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode synchronization information within a synchronization signal (SS) block, the SS block received within a SS burst set and occupying a subset of a plurality of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols within a slot. At least one of the symbols in the subset coincides with a pre-defined symbol location associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). A synchronization procedure can be performed with a next generation Node-B (gNB) based on the synchronization information within the SS block. The DM-RS can be detected within the slot, where the DM-RS starts at a symbol location that is shifted from the pre-defined symbol location and following the subset of symbols. Downlink data received via the PDSCH is decoded based on the detected DM-RS.

    Abstract: Devices and methods of providing channel occupancy time (COT) are described. After a gNB acquires an unlicensed channel for a COT, the gNB indicates the COT length to a UE using a PDCCH having a DCI formed in accordance with DCI format 2_0. The slot format of the last slot of the COT is indicated using a reserved slot format indicator that is reserved to indicate the end of the COT. The reserved slot format indicator indicates a last slot format of available slot formats of DCI format 2_0. Dummy bits fill the DCI after the reserved slot format indicator. Alternatively, to indicate the COT length, a COT field dedicated to providing the COT is used in the DCI or the CRC is masked using a slot format indication Radio Network Temporary Identifier.

    Abstract: An apparatus of user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coup led to a memory, where to configure the UE for radio link monitoring (RLM) in a New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) network, the processing circuitry is to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling from a base station. The RRC signaling includes configuration information to configure transmission occasions for a plurality of RLM reference signals (RLM-RSs). A primary synchronization signal (PSS) or a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) detection is performed to determine a number of RLM-RSs of the plurality of RLM-RSs that are successfully transmitted during the transmission occasions. Signal measurements are performed on the RLM-RSs that are successfully transmitted within an evaluation duration to determine a block error rate (BLER). The signal measurements are performed when the number is higher than a threshold number. An in-sync (IS) indicator or an out-of-sync (OOS) indicator are generated based on the signal measurements.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of initial acquisition in a NR system are described. A UE receives time and frequency superposed SSBs from a gNB. If the PSS and SSS of each SSB is independent of a block index of the SSB, the UE receives an additional reference signal scrambled by a beam index of the SSB and uses the reference signal to discriminate between the SSBs. The reference signal is FDMed within a null-subcarrier region of the SSB or outside of the SSB. If the PSS and SSS of each SSB is scrambled using the block index, the UE separates the PBCH measurements, iteratively identifies a block index associated with a DMRS of the PBCH with the highest L1-RSRP level measurement, decodes and reconstructs the PBCH, and subtracts the reconstructed PBCH from the SSB before transmitting an indication of the PBCH with the highest L1-RSRP level measurement to the gNB.
