    Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses disclosed herein can operate on an unlicensed spectrum. These systems, methods, and apparatuses can perform a Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) to detect transmissions within the unlicensed spectrum. Thereafter, these systems, methods, and apparatuses can transmit, in response to the unlicensed spectrum being clear of transmissions, one or more first symbols within an uplink (UL) burst portion of a frame structure. The frame structure can include a downlink (DL) burst portion and the UL burst portion separated by gap. These systems, methods, and apparatuses can receive one or more second symbols within the DL burst portion.

The SFI indicates whether one or more slots associated with the COT structure are to be used for downlink (DL) symbols, uplink (UL) symbols, or flexible symbols. The flexible symbols form one or more gaps in the COT structure in response to the flexible symbols not being overridden as a DL transmission or a UL transmission. The processor circuitry can further be configured to transmit the SFI to a user equipment (UE).

The processor circuitry is further configured to determine a HARQ-ACK assessment for the TB based on the HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the transmitted plurality of CBGs, and adjust a contention window size based on the HARQ-ACK assessment for the TB.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for determining and processing uplink listen before talk (LBT) failures, including the determination of a consistent and systematic LBT failure associated with uplink transmissions in new radio (NR) operating over unlicensed spectrum. For example, a user equipment (UE) identifies a plurality of transmission occasions to be performed by the UE over the unlicensed spectrum. The UE further performs a plurality of listen before talk (LBT) procedures associated with respective ones of the plurality of transmission occasions to be performed by the UE, and tracks a number of LBT failures during the performance of the plurality of LBT procedures, wherein a LBT failure occurs due to a channel used for the associated LBT procedure being busy or when an LBT backoff is still running from a previous LBT failure. The UE further implements a recovery procedure in response to the LBT failures exceeding a predetermined threshold within a predetermined time period.
