Abstract: An apparatus for self-optimization of a Network Slice Instance, NSI, comprising network slice related management functions is provided. The apparatus can include a Network Slice Management Function, NSMF, operable to monitor a performance of a Network Slice Instance in use, and evaluate whether the Network Slice Instance meets a received set of Network Slice requirements, wherein the received set of Network Slice requirements are received from a Service Management Function, SMF, and/or an Operator's target for performance of the Network Slice Instance. The apparatus can also include a Network Slice Subnet Management Function, in communication with the Network Slice Management Function, and operable to modify a Network Slice SubNet Instance, NSSI, for use in the Network Slice Instance in use in order to meet the received Network Slice requirements.

Abstract: An apparatus of a management service equipment includes processing circuitry. To configure the management service equipment for measuring a plurality of key performance indicators (KPIs) in a 5G network with a plurality of network functions (NFs), the processing circuitry is to retrieve using a data analytic function of the management service equipment, a plurality of performance measurements associated with a cell of a radio access network (RAN) within the 5G network. A KPI of the plurality of KPIs associated with the cell is generated using the data analytic function of the management service equipment, based on the plurality of performance measurements. The KPI is encoded for transmission to a service application executing on a user equipment (UE) active within the cell of the RAN or executing within a cloud architecture.

Abstract: In an example method, a management service (MnS) producer sends a first request to establish a connection for streaming performance data regarding a wireless communications network to a MnS consumer. The MnS producer receives a first response from the MnS consumer confirming establishment of the connection, and streams one or more units of performance data to the MnS consumer sequentially using the connection. The one or more units include one or more performance metrics regarding the wireless communications network. The MnS producer sends a second request to the MnS consumer to terminate the connection, and receives a second response from the MnS consumer confirming termination of the connection.
