Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices, systems and methods for subdermal tissue tightening through soft tissue coagulation and for use in cosmetic surgery applications. The devices, systems and methods of the present disclosure may be used for a minimally invasive application of plasma energy to subcutaneous tissue for the purpose of tightening lax tissue. The present disclosure further provides tissue tightness measurement devices, systems and methods, which are used to determine the tightness of tissue. The measurements obtained by the tissue tightness measurement devices and/or systems are used to determine when a desired tissue tightness has been achieved during a tissue tightening procedure.

Abstract: A skin status monitoring apparatus that includes one or more sensors for sensing the applied energy density to an operative site in real time based on one or more monitored variables is provided. Based on the sensed applied energy density, the applied power level of the cold plasma beam may be adjusted, such that, the applied energy density to the operative site remains within the beneficial range that achieves the desired physiological effect to the operative site. The skin status monitoring apparatus of the present disclosure may be coupled to a distal end of an electrosurgical device capable of generating cold plasma.

Abstract: An electrosurgical apparatus including a robotic tip is provided. The electrosurgical apparatus includes a plurality of actuators and hinging members. The robotic tip includes a retractable electrode. The actuators are coupled to the hinging members via a plurality of pulling mechanisms, such that, one or more of the actuators is rotated to selectively pull one or more of the plurality of pulling mechanisms to pivot and rotate the robotic tip and/or extend and retract the electrode. The electrode is coupled to a gas source and an energy source, such that, the electrode can produce plasma for use in surgical applications.

Abstract: An electrosurgical apparatus is provided including a connector, a flexible shaft, and a distal tip. The connector may further be coupled to an electrosurgical generator and gas supply. The distal tip of the electrosurgical apparatus may be grasped by a grasping tool, such that the orientation and position of the distal tip relative to the shaft may be manipulated to achieve a plurality of positions. The electrosurgical apparatus provides electrosurgical energy and inert gas to an electrode within the distal tip of the electrosurgical apparatus to generate a plasma beam. In one aspect, the distal tip is configured as a sheath that is extendable and retractable over the electrode to expose the electrode when the sheath is in a first position and conceal or cover the electrode when the sheath is in a second position.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices, systems and methods for calculating the amount of energy delivered to tissue during an electrosurgical treatment. The present disclosure provides for a power supply that supplies electrosurgical energy to an applicator via a radio frequency (RF) output stage, a memory that stores at least one energy quantification function that determines an amount of energy delivered to patient tissue by the applicator and a controller that controls the power supply based on a selected power setting and determines the amount of energy delivered to the patient tissue based on the energy quantification function and the selected power setting. The controller counts the energy delivered to the patient tissue based on the selected power setting and a duration of activation time of the applicator at the selected power setting and displays the energy delivered in Joules.
