摘要： A monopolar needle assembly comprises a disposable insulated needle having an uninsulated tip projecting from a needle stem and a sheath for covering the needle. A brass connector pin is connected to the needle stem of the electrically conductive needle. A handle is provided for supporting the connector pin and for holding the needle when the needle is inserted into a patient or the like. The connector pin, which is housed within the handle, is secured to a detachable power cord.

摘要： A disposable electrode for use in electromyography and/or nerve conduction velocity testing has a tab for connection to a cable connector and is laminated of a plurality of layers including first and second outer layers. The first layer is a backing member with exposed adhesive, a hydrogel layer intermediate the outer layers and a conductive foil layer between the hydrogel layer and the second outer layer. The electrode may be a disc electrode, a ground electrode or an elongated flexible digital ring electrode. The disc electrode includes two identical disc electrode elements having circular portions separably joined to each other at a central portion and the tab of each element is remote from the central portion. A kit contains a plurality of disposable electrodes packaged in a blister pack, the packaged electrodes including a plurality of such disc electrodes, a plurality of such ground electrodes and a plurality of such elongated flexible digital ring electrodes.

摘要： An improved needle electrode for use with a hypodermic syringe attachment which includes a needle member, a conductor wire directly attached to an uninsulated portion of the needle member, insulating material formed around at least a portion of the needle member and the conductor wire thereby to form a handle which has a smooth external configuration preferably of ogival shape for easy gripping and dexterous manipulation by an operator. The hypodermic syringe attachment is capable of connection to the handle and an electric lead is capable of connection to the conductor wire. The insulating material is directly formed, as by molding, around the needle member and the conductor wire.

摘要： An electrode has a ferrule, a cannula and a wire, each with a distal end and a proximal end. The ferrule has a nose portion at its distal end and defines a nose passage terminating at a shoulder communicating with a passage having a guide opening followed by an abutment and opening into an annular recess. The proximal cannula end penetrates the nose passage and abuts the shoulder. The nose portion connects to the proximal cannula end. An insulator spool has a distal end an an axial bore smaller than the guide opening. A connective member has a cavity receiving the proximal wire end and is attached about the cavity to the proximal wire end and is secured in the axial bore of the spool that is in the annular recess with the distal wire end penetrating through the axial bore, the guide opening, and an interior cannula passage with the distal end of the spool engaging the abutment. An assembly method involves connecting the ferrule nose portion about the proximal cannula end, attaching the connector member about the cavity onto the proximal wire end, mounting the connector member into the spool bore, and inserting the spool in the annular recess with the distal wire end penetrating the axial bore, the guide opening and the interior cannula passage with the distal spool end engages the abutment.

摘要： A monopolar needle assembly comprises a disposable insulated needle having an uninsulated tip projecting from a needle stem and a sheath for covering the needle. The protective sheath is preferably plastic and injection molded. The needle is disposed within a protective sheath until the needle is inserted into the patient, thereby preventing contamination of the needle. As embodied herein, the exterior and interior surfaces of the protective sheath are tapered to conform essentially to the elongated configuration of the needle. The portion of the sheath proximate the needle stem includes flanges projecting from the exterior of the sheath to prevent the monopolar needle assembly of the present invention from rolling if it is dropped.
