摘要: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving from one or more magnetic-measurement devices one or more trajectories comprising magnetic measurements in an area collected by the magnetic-measurement devices over a period of time. The method also includes performing one or more correlation analyses on at least some of the trajectories to determine similarities in the trajectories. The method also includes storing portions of the trajectories that have determined similarities below predetermined thresholds for incorporation into a master geomagnetic map.

摘要: In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a first magnetometer that measures a magnetic field. The apparatus includes a second magnetometer that measures the magnetic field. The first and second magnetometer are positioned a predetermined distance apart from each other in a direction. The apparatus includes computer-readable media embodying logic that access a first measurement of the magnetic field by the first magnetometer at a first time and a second measurement of the magnetic field by the second magnetometer at a second time. The logic compares the first measurement with the second measurement and, based at least in part on the comparison, determines that the first measurement approximately coincides with the second measurement. Based at least in part on the coincidence, the logic determines that a device comprising the apparatus has traversed the predetermined distance in the direction that they are positioned apart from each other.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method includes collecting, by a magnetic navigation device, magnetic measurements of a particular geographical region in accordance with a position and trajectory of the magnetic navigation device; accessing a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signal status and a network connection status on the magnetic navigation device; determining an operational mode for the magnetic navigation device based on the GNSS signal status and the network connection status; determining whether to transmit the magnetic measurements to a server or store the magnetic measurements locally on the magnetic navigation device based on the operational mode; and performing navigation or localization operations using the operational mode.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method includes at a mapping server receiving from a plurality of regional servers a plurality of regional magnetic data sets; at the mapping server updating a geomagnetic map with one or more of the regional magnetic data sets, wherein the geomagnetic map comprises one or more of the geographic regions; and from the mapping server communicating one or more portions of the geomagnetic map as updated to one or more of the regional servers for distribution as geomagnetic map information to one or more of the magnetic navigation devices for localization or navigation.
