摘要: A spinal implant for stabilizing two adjacent vertebrae having a damaged disc therebetween is assembled in situ. The implant consists of a bone tray, an anchor, a retainer plate, a retainer, and mounting screws. The bone tray bone tray is elliptical shaped and includes an open top side and an open bottom side, the top side and the bottom side adapted to engage the end plates of adjacent vertebrae, respectively, the bone tray having a sidewall connecting the top side and the bottom side, the sidewall having an bore therethrough. The retainer is slidably extending through the bore whereby the distractor anchor is adapted to be inserted between adjacent vertebrae and the retainer extends through the retainer plate. The retainer plate is secured to the vertebrae body by mounting screws. A driver, not shown, is adapted to rotate the retainer which engages the distractor anchor to engage the bone tray.

摘要: A polyaxial cannulated screw having a resilient expandable body capable of supporting compressive and cyclic loads. The expandable body provides an artificial disc prosthesis by use of the expandable body that mimics the properties of the natural disc by maintaining the intervertebral disc space through a full range of natural motion, absorbing shocks and permitting a natural range of motion. A U-shaped saddle attached to a spherical ball permits optimum positioning of a rod member by polyaxial placement.

The device includes a means for engaging an extendable member to accommodate the distracted channel. The corpectomy implant device is defined by a main body, a first expandable plate, and an opposing second expandable plate. Each expandable plate is adapted to fit within the main body in a compressed state, and extends away from the main body in a non-compressed, expanded state.

摘要: A facet fixation device formed from an anchor screw and a collet or facet screw that is secured to adjacent pedicles. The anchor screw has an aperture for receipt of a first end of a guide wire or polyaxial based facet screw. The collet includes a unidirectional attachment mechanism wherein a wire can be drawn to a desired position to fix the distance between the anchor screw and the collet. Excess wire can then be removed.

摘要: A spinal fixation system that includes at least two pedicle screws and a connector plate attached to each pedicle screw with a locking nut at a first end. A rod connector member attached to a second end of each connector plate with a rod connecting member locking lock. A spinal rod connected to at least two of the rod connector members. The pedicle screw including a cup shaped member that conforms to a lower mating surface on the connector plate and the locking nut having a mating surface with the upper surface of the connector plates to provide a polyaxial connection between the pedicle screw and the connector plate. The rod connector, connecting plate, and, rod connector locking nuts having mating surfaces that allow polyaxial motion between the rod connector member and the connector plate. The spinal fixation system provides a low profile system that is more easily implanted and adjustable so as to reduce the stress to the spinal column and trauma to the surgical incision.
