Abstract: Devices and methods of correcting vertebral misalignment, including, e.g., spondylolisthesis, are disclosed. In one embodiment, a vertebral implant may include an assembly configured to be secured to a first vertebral body, wherein the assembly includes a frame made of a first material and at least one end plate made of a second material different than the first material; a reducing plate configured to be slidably received over the central portion, wherein the reducing plate is configured to be secured to a second vertebral body; and an actuator configured to move the reducing plate relative to the frame.

Abstract: A system for aligning components of a prosthetic includes a mounting plate, a fastener and an adapter coupling plate. The mounting plate comprises: a first major surface; a second major surface opposing the first major surface; an adapter accommodation hole extending through the mounting plate; and sizing indicia located on the second major surface. The fastener extends from the mounting plate. The adapter coupling plate comprises: a third major surface; a fourth major surface opposing the third major surface; an adapter coupling hole extending through the adapter coupling plate and surrounded by the adapter accommodation hole; and an indicator located on the fourth major surface to point to the sizing indicia on the mounting plate. The adapter coupling plate can be slidable along a slot surrounding the fastener or a tongue and groove system connecting the adapter coupling plate and the mounting plate and locked via the fastener.

Abstract: A system for use during surgical procedures. The system includes an implant and a tool. The implant combines a modular adjustable cage and a shim that locks the cage into position, after the cage has been adjusted to its final position and at its final height, in situ. The tool combines an expander and an inserter. A related method of using the system is also provided.

Abstract: A disc preparation instrument for use in fusing spinal vertebrae comprises a modular scoring trial and a depth stop releasably attached to the scoring trial. The trial includes an elongate stem supporting a trial device at its distal tip. The trial device is insertable into a disc space and includes a rotatable rasp for scoring opposing vertebral endplates at a scored location. A stop, sized to engage an exterior surface of the vertebrae, is movable on the depth stop stem by rotation of an adjustment knob to a plurality of selectable distances between the proximal end of the trial device and the movable stop. An actuator releasably attached to the trial is operable to rotate the rasp. A plurality of modular trials, each having a trial device of different heights may be provided in a kit. Each scoring trial is selectively releasably attachable to a single depth stop.

Abstract: A modular inserter assembly for use in inserting an interbody fusion cage into the disc space between opposing vertebrae comprises a depth stop and a modular inserter tip releasably attached thereto. The modular inserter assembly includes a cage attachment surface for releasable attachment to an interbody fusion cage, the depth stop including a movable stop axially movable relative to the inserter tip and being sized and configured to engage an exterior surface of one of the vertebrae to establish the depth to which the interbody fusion cage is to be inserted in the disc space. A plurality of modular inserter tips, each being configured for selective releasable attachment to differently sized interbody fusion cages are provided in a kit with the depth stop.

Abstract: An expandable spinal implant includes a distal projection extending from only one side of the implant, ending in an anterior tip, the anterior portion and anterior tip defining an elongated distal end hook, which is wider than the proximal end. The distal end hook rotates around the spinal cord, aligning the implant with a desired pathway, then inserts into place in the disc space between the vertebrae. The elongated widened distal end hook provides a TLIF approach, distributes loads, provides anterior rim engagement, and creates lordosis.

Abstract: A tibial implant having a stem and a tibial sleeve. The tibial sleeve having a proximal end and a distal end, where the proximal end includes an annular male portion. The tibial implant also includes an offset ring having a central bore that is offset from the center of the offset ring, where the bore of the offset ring receives the annular male portion of the tibial sleeve. The tibial implant further includes a base plate having a proximal end and a distal end, where the distal end of the base plate forms a female portion, and the female portion receives both the offset ring and the male portion of the tibial sleeve.

Abstract: An expandable intervertebral implant is provided for insertion into an intervertebral space defined by adjacent vertebrae. The expandable intervertebral implant includes a pair of outer sleeve portions and an inner core disposed between the outer sleeve portions. Movement of the inner core relative to the outer sleeve portions causes the outers sleeve portions to deflect away from each other, thereby engaging the expandable intervertebral implant with the vertebrae and adjusting the height of the intervertebral space.
