摘要： A developing apparatus for developing a latent image formed on an electrophotographic photosensitive member, includes (a) a developer carrying member for feeding a magnetic developer to develop a latent image formed on the electrophotographic photosensitive member with the magnetic developer, wherein a magnet is disposed in the developer carrying member; (b) a magnetic seal member provided at each of one and the other longitudinal ends of the developer carrying member with a clearance from a peripheral surface of the developer carrying member to prevent leakage of the developer in a longitudinal direction of the developer carrying member; (c) a developer regulating member provided contacted to the peripheral surface of the developer carrying member to prevent reentering of the developer having passed through the gap between the developer carrying member and the magnetic seal member.

摘要： A magnetic seal mounting method for mounting a magnetic seal member to a developing frame which has a magnetic seal mounting portion extended in a direction crossing with a longitudinal direction of a developing roller mounting portion for mounting a developing roller at each of one and the other longitudinal ends of the developing roller mounting portion, and a supporting member mounting portion for mounting a supporting member for supporting a developing blade extended along the longitudinal direction of the developing roller mounting portion, the method including the steps of: (a) engaging the magnetic seal member to the magnetic seal mounting portion while an elastic member between the magnetic seal mounting portion and the magnetic seal member is deformed, when the magnetic seal member is mounted to the magnetic seal mounting portion; (b) mounting the supporting member to a developing frame so that position of the magnetic seal member is regulated by the supporting member for supporting the developing blade to prevent disengagement of the magnetic seal member mounted to the magnetic seal mounting portion therefrom, thus mounting the developing blade; and (c) mounting the developing roller to the developing roller mounting portion provided in an including while flexing the developing blade after the developing blade is mounted to the developing frame.

摘要： A disassembling tool pushes first and second coupling members out of a process cartridge that also has an electrophotographic photosensitive member, and first and second coupling members for rotatably coupling first and second frames of the cartridge together. The disassembling tool includes first and second base bodies, first and second engagement portions provided on the first and second base bodies respectively, and engageable with the cartridge to position the cartridge when the tool is mounted on the cartridge, and first and second pushing-out portions provided for movement relative to the first and second base bodies, respectively, for pushing out the first and second coupling members, respectively. The first and second engagement portions are provided at a location opposed to the first and second pushing-out portions, respectively, in a movement direction in which the first and second pushing-out portions are moved, respectively.

摘要： A developing device is detachably mountable to the main body of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The device is for developing an electrostatic latent image on an electrophotographic photosensitive member and includes a developing member for developing the electrostatic latent image formed on the electrophotographic photosensitive member, a developer container containing therein a developer to be used to effect the development of the electrostatic latent image by the developing member, a developing frame for supporting the developing member, a welding rib provided along the lengthwise direction of the developing frame to connect the developer container and the developing frame together by-ultrasonic welding, and a plurality of reinforcing members provided on the back of that surface of the developing frame on which the welding rib is provided, along the lengthwise direction of the welding rib, to increase the strength of the developing frame. The welding rib provided on the developing frame is disposed so as to be located between the plurality of reinforcing members as viewed from a direction intersecting with the surface and the back, and the developer container and the developing frame are connected together by the ultrasonic welding.
