Abstract: The disclosure provides a composite element having a layer structure with 2 mm to 20 mm of metal, 10 mm to 100 mm of compact polyurethane formulation and another 2 mm to 20 mm of metal, a method of using thereof and corresponding production process therefor. The polyurethane formulation is obtainable by reacting (a) a compound having at least two isocyanate groups with (b) polyether polyol and the polyether polyol (b) is a mixture including at least the constituents of polyether polyol (b1) and polyether polyol (b2).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a continuous process for producing an insulated pipe comprising at least one medium pipe, an outer pipe, a layer of at least one polyurethane between the at least one medium pipe and outer pipe and a film tube between the at least one polyurethane and the outer pipe, which comprises at least the steps (A) provision, in a jaw band, of at least one medium pipe and a film tube formed continuously from a film, where the at least one medium pipe is arranged within the film tube in such a way that a gap is formed between the at least one medium pipe and the film tube, (B) introduction of a polyurethane system comprising at least one isocyanate component (a) and at least one polyol (b) into the gap, (C) foaming and allowing to cure of the polyurethane system and (D) application of a layer of at least one material to the film tube in order to form the outer pipe, where the polyurethane system has thixotropic properties.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for producing a rigid polyurethane foam comprising at least one polyol having a molecular weight of not less than 1700 g/mol and at least one blowing agent as component A, and at least one polyisocyanate as component B, wherein the at least one polyisocyanate B comprises from 11 to 39.5 wt % of a polyisocyanate prepolymer, based on a polyether polyol having an OH number of at least 100 mg KOH/g, to a rigid polyurethane foam obtainable by reacting this composition, to a process for producing such a rigid polyurethane foam, to the use of such a rigid polyurethane foam for insulation, especially for pipe insulation and also to a process for producing an insulated pipe.
