    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing leather in which methanesulfonic acid (MSA) is used in the pickling step at a high pH value, and the use of MSA is to improve the quality of the final leather product as well as to improve the environmental impact of the waste liquor.

    Abstract: Described herein is a method for producing a viscose solution including a step of adding alkyl polyglycoside (APG) prior to and/or during xanthation of alkali cellulose. When APG is added prior to or during xanthation of alkali cellulose, the reactivity between alkali cellulose and CS2 could be increased and the xanthation could be accelerated, as a result of which formation of agglomerates and/or lumps in the obtained viscose solution and then the obtained viscose fiber spun therefrom is significantly reduced, relative to the situation when conventional surfactants such as phenyl ethoxylate are added likewise. Also described herein is a viscose solution obtained by the foresaid method, and a method for producing viscose fiber with the foresaid viscose solution or including the foresaid method.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an alkoxylated polyethyleneimine hydrophilically-modified fiber, wherein the alkoxylated polyethyleneimine has a weight average molecular weight of 600 to 25,000 and contains 1 to 40 alkylene oxide units per nitrogen atom. The invention also relates to a method of improving hydrophilicity of fiber comprising impregnating the fiber with an aqueous solution containing an alkoxylated polyethyleneimine, wherein the alkoxylated polyethyleneimine has a weight average molecular weight of 600 to 25,000 and contains 1 to 40 alkylene oxide units per nitrogen atom. The invention also relates to use of the alkoxylated polyethyleneimine in improving hydrophilicity of fiber.
