Abstract:
Solvent-free spontaneously cross-linking highly reactive acrylic resins being crosslinkable through N-methylolether groups for powder coatings with a softening point of from 75* - 110* C are obtained from their solutions by continuous concentration through evaporation in a self-cleaning screw evaporator in which the residence times are from 2 to 6 minutes, the resin being heated both through external heating and through internal friction to a temperature not exceeding 120* C.
Abstract:
In the concentration of materials, e.g., a solution of polymers, by discharging the material from an expansion nozzle into an evaporating chamber, the degree of the concentration is increased so that the concentrated material is no longer fluid. Such operation is made feasible by disposing screw conveying means in the discharge of the evaporating chamber for withdrawal of the material. Efficiency of the concentration is increased. The material can be further concentrated in evaporating chambers through which the conveying means carry the material.
Abstract:
In the production of high polymer polyorgano-siloxane convertible to silicone elastomers, oligomeric organo-siloxanes and catalyst are stirred in an upright container. The stirring is effected with a spiral stirrer disposed along the wall of the container, while the center of the container is free of conveyor means for free axial flow of the polymerizing material therethrough.
