Abstract: Shaped elements of accurate dimension are produced from synthetic plastics materials by pressing them through a shaping tool and are finished immediately after solidification by a cutting tool, wherein the cutting forces are kept remote from the forces which occur by the extrusion operation by means of a withdrawal mechanism.
