Abstract:
APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING A PLASTIC EXTRUDED ARTICLE HAVING A PRECISION CROSS-SECTIONAL PROFILE. THE APPARATUS COMPRISES AN EXTRUDER HAVING A FUSION SECTION, A COOLING SECTION AND A DIE SECTION. THE DIE SECTION IMPARTS TO THE EXTRUSION A PREDETERMINED CROSS-SECTIONAL PROFILE GREATER THAN THAT ULTIMATELY DESIRED. ALSO INCLUDED IS A CAVITY CUTTING TOOL PROVIDED WITH A PLURALITY OF SPACED CUTTING UNITS, POSITIONED ADJACENT THE EXTRUDER SO AS TO EMBRACE THE EXTRUSION IN ITS PATH LEAVING THE EXTRUDER, AND TO CUT DOWN THE OVERSIZED PROFILE TO THE DESIRED PRECISION PROFILE.
Abstract:
A plastics tube comprises a duroplastic material with a fiber reinforcement of at least one tubular, endless knitted fabric impregnated with the duroplastic material, wherein the ends of the tube are provided with flanges, the endless tubular knitted fabric extending radially outwards into the flange and being impregnated with a circular insert.
Abstract:
Shaped elements of accurate dimension are produced from synthetic plastics materials by pressing them through a shaping tool and are finished immediately after solidification by a cutting tool, wherein the cutting forces are kept remote from the forces which occur by the extrusion operation by means of a withdrawal mechanism.
