Abstract: A fluid injector system for use in administering to a patient a fluid in an injection protocol in connection with a diagnostic imaging procedure includes at least one display and a control device. The control device is programmed to determine, for each of the injection protocols performed by the fluid injector system, a component status for the at least one disposable component. The component status indicates whether use of the at least one disposable component was compliant with instructions for use applicable to the at least one disposable component. The control device is further programmed to enable the at least one display to display a compliance report. The compliance report includes one or more visual indicators providing visual feedback about compliance with the instructions for use based on the component status determined for each of the injection protocols performed using the fluid injector system.

Abstract: A method of predicting peak pressure within a fluid path, which includes a tubing set and a catheter into which at least one fluid is introduced under pressure by a pressurizing system of a fluid injection apparatus, includes (a) inputting an initial injection protocol into the fluid injection apparatus according to which the at least one fluid is intended to be introduced into the fluid path; (b) predicting an expected peak pressure level that would result in the fluid path if the initial injection protocol were to be used as intended to introduce the at least one fluid into the fluid path. The expected peak pressure level is determined before commencement of the initial injection protocol according to at least one model on the basis of a flow rate of the at least one fluid, at least one catheter characteristic, and a viscosity of the at least one fluid. The at least one model is determined experimentally for a plurality of fluids of different viscosities, for a plurality of catheters of different catheter characteristics, and for at least one tubing set of like kind to the tubing set of the fluid path.

Abstract: A fluid injector system includes a control device operably associated with at least one drive component for use in actuating a plurality of fluid containers in fluid communication with a patient through an administration line. The control device includes at least one processor programmed or configured to enable programming of a diagnostic injection protocol comprising one or more phases according to which at least one of the first and the second fluid containers are selectively actuatable by the at least one drive component to enable injection of at least one of a first fluid and a second fluid into the patient. The control device is further programmed or configured to enable selection and commencement of at least partial preloading into the administration line of at least one of the first fluid and the second fluid in accordance with the one or more phases of the diagnostic injection protocol.

Abstract: A fluid injector system has a controller for operably controlling the injection of contrast and/or saline into a patient. The controller allows a user to program a diagnostic injection procedure having one or more phases according to which the contrast and/or saline will be injected into the patient so as to effect enhancement of a region thereof during an imaging procedure. It further allows the user to program a test injection procedure to be performed prior to the diagnostic injection procedure. The test injection procedure is implementable as: (a) a variable single phase test injection in which the rate at which the saline is to be delivered is selectable prior to and may be varied during performance thereof; and/or (b) a multi-phase test injection in which the rate at which the saline is to be delivered is selectable for each phase of the multi-phase test injection prior to performance thereof.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for peer exchange of data between injection systems. A first injection system may store a plurality of injection control data sets, determine a first subset of the plurality of injection control data sets according to which the first injection system is configured to control delivery of fluid to a patient, provide the first subset of the plurality of injection control data sets for selection of an injection control data set for use in delivering fluid to the patient with the first injection system, and transmit the plurality of injection control data sets to at least one second injection system.

Abstract: Described is an injector system for implementing a split bolus injection procedure. The injector system includes a processor and a non-transitory storage medium having programming instructions stored therein that, when executed by the processor, enable the injector system to operate as a parameter generation system for use in determining parameters associated with a split bolus injection protocol via which injection of the contrast agent by the injector system is controlled. The split bolus injection protocol includes at least a loading injection and a diagnostic injection, wherein the loading injection is performed before the diagnostic injection, and wherein a pause separates the loading injection from the diagnostic injection. Also described is a method for patient imaging using a split bolus injection technique and a system having an imaging device and the injector system described above.

Abstract: A fluid injector system includes a powered fluid injector, a connection port configured to receive a single-use disposable set having tubing connected to a fluid inlet port at a first end and connected to a waste outlet port at a second end, and a detector associated with the connection port and configured to generate a signal in response to a sonic, infrasonic, or ultrasonic wave emitted from the single-use disposable set during a priming operation of the single-use disposable set. In some examples, the detector is configured to generate a signal if the frequency of the wave emitted from the single-use disposable set is outside a predetermined range of frequencies corresponding to a predetermined range of frequencies of air expelled from the tubing. A method for detecting the multiple uses of a single-use disposable set connected to a fluid injector system is also provided.
