Abstract:
In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a delivery device for delivering a detachable medical implant that comprises an elongated delivery member and a first engagement portion. The first engagement portion comprises a first proximal-facing surface, a first distal-facing surface, and a first lumen that is configured to accommodate an activation wire, wherein at least 50% of a surface area of the first proximal-facing surface is angled away from a proximal end of the first engagement portion. In other aspects, the present disclosure provides a medical delivery system comprising: such a delivery device; an implantable device comprising a medical device portion and a second engagement portion, the second engagement portion comprising a second lumen configured to accommodate an activation wire, a second proximal-facing surface and a second distal-facing surface; and an activation wire. Other aspects pertain to methods of medical device delivery using such a medical delivery system.
Abstract:
A recanalization catheter assembly and method for establishing a subintimal pathway around an occlusion in a blood vessel. The recanalization catheter assembly an inflatable balloon structure including a distal anchoring portion configured to expand within a true lumen portion of the blood vessel distal of the occlusion to anchor the recanalization catheter from unintentional movement during expansion of a stent in the subintimal pathway. The expandable stent, such as a bioabsorbable stent, may be configured to promote native tissue regrowth around the stent to create a superficial intimal layer along the subintimal pathway.
Abstract:
A percutaneous prosthetic heart valve assembly comprising a radially expandable anchor docking member, the anchor docking member having an unexpanded state and an expanded state, in the expanded state, the anchor docking member comprising a mechanism for receiving and engaging an implantable heart valve and a bioabsorbable gasket member disposed about the anchor docking member, the bioabsorbable gasket member comprising a bioabsorbable polymer material, the bioabsorbable gasket member having an unexpanded and an expanded state.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure include medical devices and methods including a medical device including: an elongate core element, and a generally tubular torsion element surrounding the core element and capable of transmitting torque along its length. The torsion element has a spiral incision that has a proximal end and a distal end.The spiral incision forms a helically coiled strip between the proximal and distal ends of the spiral incision. The helically coiled strip varies in width from the proximal end of the spiral incision to the distal end of the spiral incision and has a narrowest portion. The helically coiled strip bows radially outward at the narrowest portion when the helically coiled strip in the torsion element is unwound.
Abstract:
A subintimal recanalization catheter, including an elongate shaft including a first tubular member and a penetration member slidably disposed in a lumen of the first tubular member. The penetration member includes a distal tip positioned proximal of a distal nose of the first tubular member. The distal nose of the first tubular member includes a ramp and a guide wire lumen extending through the distal nose of the first tubular member. Longitudinal movement of the penetration member relative to the first tubular member causes the penetration member to contact the ramp to direct the distal tip of the penetration member away from the first tubular member.

Abstract:
An embolic protection device, the device expandable from a first low profile configuration to a second expanded configuration, the device adapted for implantation body lumen, the device comprising an expandable support structure comprising radially expandable tubular first and second end portions and a laterally expandable central portion extending between the first and second end portions.
