Abstract: A coupling device for a medical system includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a first body and a first connector. The first connector extends from the first body and is configured to couple a first medical device to the first portion. The second portion includes a second body and a second connector. The second connector extends from the second body and is configured to couple a second medical device to the second portion. The first portion and the second portion are removably couplable, and, when coupled, the second portion are rotatable relative to the first portion.

Abstract: A medical system comprising a compressible device, and a covering over the compressible device, wherein the covering includes a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, wherein, in the delivery configuration, the covering at least partially covers the compressible device to maintain the compressible device in a compressed state, and wherein, in the deployed configuration, the covering is releasable from the device to transition the compressible device from the compressed state to an expanded state.

Abstract: An access needle includes a hollow shaft having a lumen sized and shaped to slidably receive a guidewire therein and having a distal end including an angled surface extending proximally and transversely from a sharpened distal-most tip of the shaft to a beveled smoothed area of the shaft proximal and transverse to the sharpened tip. The beveled smoothed area is positioned to slidably engage a guidewire extended distally out the distal end of the needle so that, as the guidewire is retracted proximally into the needle, the beveled smoothed area slidably engages the guidewire to minimize abrasion to the guidewire.

Abstract: An ostomy device includes a base portion and an inflatable member. The portion includes a tubular body extending from a first end to a second end. The portion is sized, shaped, and configured to be received within an opening of an abdominal wall to connect an end of an intestine to the opening of the abdominal wall to form a stoma. The member is coupled to the portion. The member defines a hole extending therethrough. The hole is configured to receive a portion of an intestine proximate the stoma therethrough. In an operative configuration, the member movable between a deflated configuration, in which the stoma is maintained in an open position, and an inflated configuration, in which the member expands to decrease a size of the hole such that a radial inward pressure is applied to a portion of the intestine received therein to close the stoma.

Abstract: A steerable medical device includes a first wire and a second wire. The first wire includes a first portion having a first width and a second portion having a second width. The second width is smaller than the first width. A distal end of the first wire is fixed relative to a distal end the second wire. A proximal end of one or more of the first wire or the second wire is moveable distally or proximally with respect to the other of the first wire or the second wire in order to bend a distal portion of the steerable medical device.
