摘要:
The invention relates to a sheathing laminate for an absorbent product, such as a sanitary napkin, a diaper, an incontinence protector or the like, and which is to be used as a liquid permeable top layer, which, when the product is in use, faces the body of the user. The laminate (30) comprises a web (10) of plastic film, to one side of which are fixed two mutually spaced, longitudinal strips (14, 16) of non-woven material, while to the other side of the plastic film web (10)--in an area between the two strips (14, 16) on the opposite side of the plastic film web--there is fixed a longitudinal intermediate strip (26) of non-woven material. When used on an absorbent product, the laminate has perforations (42) at least within a portion of the area of the intermediate non-woven strip (26). The invention also relates to a process for manufacture of the sheathing laminate.

A liquid-absorbent article to be worn by a user and comprising a substantially longitudinal absorption body (1) and a cover (2) enclosing the same. On a first side, facing the user in an in-use position, the cover displays a liquid pervious first cover-sheet (3) and on a second side, facing away from the user in an in-use position, the cover displays a second cover-sheet (4). On said first side is provided longitudinal liquid barrier means (17, 18) folded into tunnel shape, forming a channel (17', 18') with a longitudinal tunnel wall (17", 18"). Said folded portions enclose longitudinal means (24, 25) with an elastically resilient supporting action acting in all directions transverse to the longitudinal direction of the article against the tunnel wall (17", 18") of the folded portion.

In the continuous manufacture of cellulose pulp it has been found that air often remains in the lignocellulosic material subsequent to steaming the same. These air inclusions cause the lignocellulosic material to float in the cooking liquid, which results in interruptions in the digestion process. This problem is solved by means of the present invention, which relates to a method in which prior to being steamed, the lignocellulosic material is brought into contact with a heating medium. The method is characterized by supplying the heating medium to the advancing lignocellulosic material at several occasions; by distributing the heating medium in a manner such as to increase the temperature of the material in the direction in which it is advanced; and by separating condensed liquid from the lignocellulosic material. The invention also relates to apparatus for carrying out the above method.

An absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin or incontinence guard, comprises a liquid-impermeable surface layer which is remote from the wearer when the article is worn, a liquid-permeable surface layer which faces towards the wearer in use, and an absorbent pad which is contained between the two surface layers. The absorbent pad is arched in a transverse direction, at least at its center part, and therewith exhibits a convex surface on the side of the pad which faces the wearer in use. The edges of the article are restrained from flexing toward the liquid-permeable surface, and the transverse arch is maintained by a restraining device attached to the longitudinal edges of the article.

The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for perforating a web of material intended to form an outer casing sheet of absorbent articles. As the web is advanced, the web is first provided with a large number of mutually separated cuts in the nip defined between raised plateaus on a matrix cylinder and circumferentially extending knife-edges of a cutting cylinder. The web is then deformed transversely to its plane at parts which border on each cut. The invention also relates to a perforated outer casing sheet which includes recesses in the form of mutually adjacent elongated channel-like grooves.

The present invention relates to an absorption body intended for an absorbent product, such as a sanitary towel or an incontinence guard, and comprising an absorbent material, preferably cellulose fluff, which increases in quantity continuously from the edge margins of the article in towards the center part thereof. According to the invention, the absorption body is compressed to an essentially flat shape and exhibits a degree of compression which increases continuously from the edge margins towards the center part of the body. The invention also relates to a method of producing an essentially flat absorption body, the density of which increases continuously from the edge margins in towards the center part thereof.
