    摘要: An annulus pressure responsive downhole tool includes a housing with an operating element disposed in the housing. The operating element is movable from a first element position to a second element position relative to the housing. A hydrostatic well annulus pressure referenced annulus pressure responsive first power piston is disposed in the housing and movable from a first to a second position thereof relative to the housing in response to an increase in well annulus pressure. A lower than hydrostatic well annulus pressure referenced annulus pressure responsive second power piston is disposed in the housing and is operatively associated with the operating element for permitting the operating element to move from its first element position to its second element position in response to movement of the second power piston from a first position to a second position thereof relative to the housing. A prevention device is operatively associated with the first and second power pistons for preventing the second power piston from moving to its second position until the first power piston has moved at least part way towards its second position.

    摘要: A delayed opening fluid sampling tool comprises a body having three chambers and a port defined therein. The tool also comprises a metering device which is disposed in the body between two of the chambers, one of which chambers is for holding a metering fluid and the other of which is for receiving fluid which is transferred through the metering device. The tool further comprises a valve which is disposed in the body between the port and the remaining chamber, which remaining chamber is for receiving a well fluid sample. The valve is moved relative to the body in response to pressure acting on the valve through the port. Only after a predetermined time delay after the pressure begins moving the valve is the valve positioned to communicate the port with the sample-receiving chamber.

    摘要: A pressure limiter for use with a positive displacement pump and an inflatable packer. The pressure limiter includes an outer housing with an inner mandrel disposed therein. Slidably disposed between the mandrel and housing is a generally annular piston. A spring biases the piston toward a closed position. Packer pressure acts upwardly on the piston tending to move it to an open position in which pump discharge pressure is relieved to a well annulus. A check valve prevents premature relief of pressure of the packer. Once the piston is in an open position, packer pressure will maintain it in the open position until pressure is relieved from the packer.

    摘要: A retrievable well packer includes a packer mandrel with an expandable packing element disposed about the mandrel. Upper and lower shoes are received about the mandrel above and below the expandable packing element for compressibly engaging the packing element. A slip assembly is received about the mandrel for anchoring the packer within the well bore. Upper and lower wedges are received about the mandrel above and below the slip assembly for wedging the slip assembly radially outward upon longitudinal compression of the packing element. The mandrel is nonrotatably connected to each of the upper and lower shoes and upper and lower wedges for preventing rotation of those components relative to the mandrel in the event the packer must be milled out of a well bore. The mandrel is initially releasably longitudinally locked relative to the lower wedge by a releasing collet attached to a lower end of the mandrel and having radially outward extending lugs received within a groove of the lower wedge. A releasing sleeve is initially releasably held in a lower position to hold the lugs of the releasing collet in the groove of the lower wedge.

    摘要: A setting device for a gravel packing system includes a housing having a slurry supply passage, a fluid return passage and a gravel packing port disposed therein. A weight responsive return valve is operatively associated with the housing for communicating an upper portion of the return passage with a well annulus exterior of the housing in response to reciprocation of a work string to which the setting device is attached. A hydraulic setting piston is operatively associated with the housing for setting a liner hanger of the gravel packing system in response to a first increase in fluid pressure within the supply passage of the housing. A hydraulically actuated supply valve is operatively associated with the housing for communicating the gravel packing port with the supply passage in response to a second increase in fluid pressure in the supply passage. The supply valve includes a sliding supply valve sleeve having an open central passageway extending therethrough open at both the lower and upper end of the sleeve. A check valve is disposed in a lower portion of the housing below the supply valve for permitting flow return fluid upward therethrough and for preventing downward flow therethrough. The gravel packing system includes a liner hanger releasably connected to the setting device, and a liner valve connected to a lower end of the liner hanger.
