摘要： A tiltable arc furnace vessel is provided with a projecting, bay-like extension having a discharge opening closable from the outside only by a pivotable plate; the bay-like extension has a bottom substantially in the same level as the bottom of the remainder of the vessel. 摘要： Post melting unit process for the decarbonization of stainless chromium steel containing at least about 10% chromium which comprises subjecting a melt of chromium containing steel at about 1580.degree.-1700.degree. C to a vacuum in the presence of sufficient oxygen to lower a starting carbon content which is above the ELC range into the ELC range, and simultaneously with subjection to vacuum, agitating the melt by gas purging, the heat added to the steel by combustion of carbon at least partially compensating for the heat loss due to post melting unit treatment.

摘要： A device for nippling active electrode sections onto a combination electrode permanent upper section employing screw nipples to form the connection comprising an outer, essentially hollow cylindrical element and an inner hollow cylindrical element co-axially with in said outer element. The inner element is configured to couple with the connector element arranged on the upper end of the permanent section of said combination electrode. A drive is provided by means of which the inner element is rotatable in relation to the outer element around its axis.
