Abstract:
To reduce the weight of the collapsible wheelchair, and the depth of the wheelchair, when collapsed, only three spreader braces (25,49,51) are used to connect, respectively, the back and side frame elements, (45,47) of the collapsible wheelchair together, the remaining interconnection being formed by tension cables (53;57',57",59"), which tend to counteract the spreading effect of the collapsible spreader braces, and are located, with respect to the spreader braces, in triangular position, one (53) of the tensioning cable extending parallel to two spreader braces (49,51) located in triangular configuration with respect to the frame elements (45,47), and other tensioning cables extending diagonally, in pairs (57,59) between the frame elements (45,47), located at the rear portion of the chair to hold the rear portion towards each other when the weight (24) of the user tends to pull together the forward portions (45d,47d) of the frame elements (45,47). The spreader braces are preferably formed with over-center toggle, or knee joints and lockable in position by a safety connecting sleeve (61).
Abstract:
The raising wheelchair, for stability, has a wheeled frame, preferably including two side frames (25), and a raising system (21) with the customary seat and backrest, pivotably secured to the wheeled frame (11). A footrest (23) is connected to at least one shaft or rod element (37) which is guided in a tubular element of the respective side frame (25). Coupling elements (39) at each side of the wheelchair couple the raising system (21) with the shaft or rod element (37) of the footrest (23). Light weight and high stability are obtained by utilizing a portion of the frame construction for guidance of the footrest in its movement from a raised to a lowered position against a floor.
Abstract:
A slide projector is juxtaposed with a slide magazine in a housing. One of the projector and magazine is movably mounted so that each slide may be aligned with where it may be loaded into the projector and unloaded back into the magazine. At the loading station a pair of pivotable, opposed toggles operated by an eccentric device frictionally rollingly grip and release two opposite edges of the slide with reversibly driven rollers. In a disclosed elaboration, a plurality of slide magazines are disposed on a spider, which may be rotated to bring any selected magazine into juxtaposition with the projector. In the elaborated version shown, the slide projector is laterally movably mounted for temporary retraction during indexing of the spider.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a novel optical function layer and its production, the function layer imparting to materials coated with it protection against uv radiation while transmitting electromagnetic radiation of larger wavelengths. The function layer of the invention and the manufacturing method of the invention offer advantages over the state of the art by allowing very accurate and precise adjustability in the uv range of the relatively sharp absorption constant.
Abstract:
A raising wheel chair includes a lifting device with a telescopic guide. With the lifting device, the raising frame can be moved up and down both in sitting and in standing position. It is therefore possible to vary the level of the seat or the footrest. Thanks to the tilted arrangement of the telescopic guide, the user of the chair will, on an upward movement, also be moved closer to the objects of interest. The inclined arrangement of the telescopic guide can provide room for the front wheels and permit a short length of the raising wheel chair.
Abstract:
The wheelchair with middle wheel drive has a wheel frame (11) comprising a front portion (13) and a back portion (15) pivotally connected together by a hinge (17). At least one front wheel (23), two middle wheels (21) and at least one auxiliary wheel (25) are provided. It is important that the auxiliary wheel (25) is located between the front wheel (23) and the middle wheels (21) and at a distance from the running plane (27) of these wheels. On surmounting an obstacle (43) the gas spring (17) is biassed both by the front wheels (23) and the auxiliary wheel (25) and is released again on the further travel of the wheelchair. This facilitates surmounting of obstacles.
Abstract:
A raising wheel chair includes a raising frame with a lever parallelogram to maintain a backrest upright both in sitting and standing position of the user. A lever provides a movement of the backrest in such a way that no movement between the backrest and the body of the user takes place when a change from sitting to standing or lying takes place.
Abstract:
The raising wheel chair substantially comprises the frame (11), wheels (13 and 15) and the seat (17) pivotably connected to the frame (11). A footrest (21) at the front and a backrest (19) at the back are pivotably connected to the seat (17). For raising the user into an upright position, a spring (27) applies a force which acts counter to the weight of the user, so as to facilitate raising the user to an erect position. A support arm (37) which can be arrested in various positions is pivotably connected to the pivot axis on both sides of the frame (11). To arrest the support arm, the locking lever (41) has a multiplicity of locking positions (45), which can be engaged by a locking element (47). The arm (37) can be put into a horizontal position, in which it offers no hindrance to the user in performing a lateral transfer movement, for instance to shift to a toilet seat.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for the generation of sprouts from material capable of sprouting, in particular for seeds, grains, leguminous fruits, as well as for the hydroponic planting of grasses for human consumption with at least one container receiving the material for sprouting and at least one dish filled with liquid, into which the sprouting container can dip via a lift drive mechanism. The sprouting container is formed as a sieve and is constructed for easy exchangeability by being disposed in a recess or opening of a support plate. The support plate rests on a side frame. The lift drive mechanism is disposed at the side frame and is effective between the support plate and the dish to provide for dipping the sprouting container into the dish and for separating the sprouting container from the dish.
Abstract:
A main frame (11), supporting main wheels (25) at different wheel positions, is coupled to a seat erection frame (13) by a parallogram linkage. To permit matching of the erecting chair to different-size persons, for example so that it can "grow" with growth of a child for whom it is initially purchased, the parallelogram linkage (45) connecting the back (35) to the frame (13) can be provided in interchangeable sets of different-length links (45a, 45b) to respectively move the back (35) in different positions with respect to the front edge (34a) of the seat, the ground support (37) likewise being adjustable to accommodate differently tall patients, adjustment of the seat with respect to ground level being additionally obtained by adjusting the height of front caster wheels (27) with respect to the main frame. The position of the main wheels (25) can be relocated with respect to the center of the seat (33) by different pivot locations on the main frame.
