    摘要: A reusable retaining strap (30) for holding a clutch release bearing (12) and actuator (11) together in a contracted position during shipment and installation. In one embodiment, a pair of elongated arms (48) are connected to opposite sides of a central ring (46) which is secured to a piston (38) of the actuator (11). In a second embodiment, the elongate arms (48) are separate members fixed at one end to the piston (38). In each case, the arms (48) include anchoring lugs (50) on their distal ends (51). The anchoring lugs (50) extend transversely relative to the length of the arms (48) and are releasably secured to a receptacle (53) formed on the housing (32) of the actuator (11).

The system includes a seat track fixable to the vehicle, a motor actuator, and a gear train engaged with the motor actuator. The seat track is adapted to cooperate with the seat track to convert movement of the motor actuator into movement of the seat track and the seat. A non-reversing clutch mechanism is coupled with the gear train and adapted to transfer torque from the motor actuator through the gear train to move the seat upon actuation of the motor actuator but locking upon torque being applied through the seat track, thereby preventing the external forces acting on the seat from moving the seat relative to the vehicle.

    摘要: A machine suitable for evaluating finished cylindrical manufactured part that accurately simulates the performance of the intended use of the part in a cam-roller contact geometry using an actual manufactured part as the test specimen is provided. The machine is capable of evaluating the effects on the can finish and profile of the manufactured part. Three idler rollers ground to simulate the axial cam geometry are compressed into the outer diameter of the bearing as it rotates, duplicating the rolling action of a cam lobe. Because the cylindrical manufactured part to be tested is loaded evenly between the three idles, the test part experiences three stress cycles per revolution, accelerating the generation of fatigue spalling damage on the outside diameter. Load and speed are regulated using a closed loop control. Ease of replacing the part to be tested and servicing the idler rollers is an advantageous feature of the machine. A calibration fixture is provided for verifying that the machine is applying the specified load evenly on all three sides of the cylindrical manufactured part that is under test. Alternately the machine can be configured so as to enable the testing of three manufactured test specimens simultaneously. With the addition of a torque transducer, the torque generated between a journal bearing roller and shaft may be measured and monitored.

    摘要: An improved clutch release bearing assembly includes a sliding sleeve providing first and second sliding surfaces respectively facing the bore of a bearing and a guide element extending through the bore, both surfaces minimizing binding, wear or excessive friction between the bearing and the guide element during relative reciprocal motion therebetween. The sleeve, preferably fashioned from plastic, finds particular utility in a clutch release bearing surrounding a transmission shaft retainer or quill tube. The length of the sleeve is such that the bearing may slide on an outer sliding surface for a predetermined distance.
