The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof, and more particularly, to a plasma display apparatus that generates a sustain pulse, and driving method thereof. The present invention controls a rising time of a sustain pulse applied to electrodes according to a load of a video signal, such as an APL value, a display area or the number of a sustain pulse. The plasma display apparatus and the driving method of the present invention controls a rising time of a sustain pulse according to a load. Therefore, a bright afterimage can be prohibited and the picture quality can be improved.

A cooling apparatus of a plasma display panel and a method for stabilizing the PDP to minimize the residual image on the display are disclosed. In particular, the present invention minimizes the residual image that is generated due to the degeneration of phosphors caused by a high voltage and a high temperature.

The present invention discloses a plasma display panel and method for manufacturing the same wherein the quality of an image can be improved by preventing an erroneous discharge. A plasma display panel having a number of discharge cells according to an embodiment of the present invention includes barrier ribs by which a discharge space is defined between an upper substrate and a lower substrate; and an oxide film of a low dielectric constant formed on each of the barrier ribs. A method for manufacturing a plasma display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: forming barrier ribs on a lower substrate so that a discharge space is defined by the barrier ribs between an upper substrate and a lower substrate; and forming an oxide film of a low dielectric constant on each of the barrier ribs. According to a PDP and method for manufacturing the same of the present invention, since an erroneous discharge does not occur, the quality of an image of a plasma display panel is improved.

A method for aging process in a PDP which is able to determine an ending time of the aging process comprises the steps of: starting the aging process by supplying source voltage to the PDP; and defining the aging ending time through change of current waveform by monitoring the change of current waveform applied to the panel, and thereby problems such that discharge characteristics of the panel become unstable due to the lack of aging time and phosphor is deteriorated and processing tack-time is reduced due to over-aging can be solved.
