摘要： An image processing apparatus that generates overcoat transfer data for transferring an overcoat onto an image formed on a recording sheet, generates a line image to be added to the overcoat, and converts the line image into a drawing part to be added to the overcoat. The drawing part includes an outline part and an area inside the outline part, the outline part is formed from pixels having a first glossiness, the area inside the outline part is formed as a mixed pattern part in which pixels having the first glossiness and pixels having a second glossiness higher than the first glossiness are mixed, and the area outside the outline part is formed from pixels having the second glossiness.

摘要： In one or more embodiments, a control unit reads image data and date information of a main image from a memory card into a RAM. When a watermark printing is set, the control unit combines characters of the date information having a high gradation value with overcoat layer data having a mixture pattern in which pixels having a high gradation value and pixels having a low gradation value are located randomly or alternately in rows and columns to generate overcoat layer print data and stores the data in an overcoat layer data storage area. The control unit generates CMY print data from the image data of the main image to print it on image-receiving paper by using a print processing section. After printing of the main image, the control unit prints the overcoat layer print data so that it is superimposed on the main image on the image-receiving paper.

The pattern data is data in which a first pattern and a second pattern are arranged alternately in a primary scanning direction and a secondary scanning direction. The first pattern includes a rectangular block of high tonal value pixels, a frame-like group of low tonal value pixels surrounding the rectangular block, and a group of high tonal pixels surrounding the group of low tonal value pixels. The second pattern includes a rectangular block of low tonal value pixels, a group of high tonal value pixels surrounding the rectangular block, and a frame-like group of low tonal pixels surrounding the group of high tonal value pixels.
