Abstract: There is provided with an image forming apparatus. A deciding unit decides a discharge amount of a reaction liquid based on a timing at which the reaction liquid is discharged onto a print medium by the image forming apparatus, a timing at which each of inks of not less than two colors is discharged onto the print medium next to the reaction liquid, and a discharge amount of each of the inks of the not less than two colors by the image forming apparatus. A controlling unit controls discharge of the reaction liquid and the inks of the not less than two colors.

Abstract: When a foaming promotion component is applied to a recording medium including a foaming layer containing foamable particles to foam, a forming height of an edge of a forming region may decrease. An image processing apparatus detects an edge pixel located inside the forming region at a border of the foaming region with a non-foaming region and increases an amount of application of the foaming promotion component, thereby being able to prevent a decrease in the forming height.
