Abstract: An imaging assisting apparatus according to an embodiment is configured to assist imaging of a medical image diagnosis apparatus that performs a series of medical examinations including a plurality of scan protocols, the imaging assisting apparatus including a processing circuit. The processing circuit is configured to obtain data acquired according to one or more already-executed scan protocols among the plurality of scan protocols. The processing circuit is configured to perform one of the following when a disease or a region suspected of a disease is extracted from the data: controlling a scan protocol which is among the plurality of scan protocols and later than the already-executed scan protocols; and generating reference information related to controlling a scan protocol which is among the plurality of scan protocols and later than the already-executed scan protocols.

Abstract: An excitation region setting method according to an embodiment includes: receiving a designation of a first region from a user, the first region being designated in a distortion-corrected image that is a magnetic resonance image in which an effect of a distortion of a magnetic field has been corrected; calculating an actual excitation region where a subject is to be excited, based on the designated first region and the effect of the distortion of the magnetic field; and correcting imaging conditions including at least one of an orientation of a slice plane that defines the actual excitation region, or a frequency of a high-frequency magnetic field applied to the subject, in such a manner that the calculated actual excitation region becomes closer to an ideal excitation region represented as the first region.

Abstract: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry generates a plurality of cross-sectional images for setting a sectional position to be collected in main imaging based on a characteristic portion of a target detected in three-dimensional data. The processing circuitry lists the cross-sectional images on a display and superimposes a mark corresponding to the characteristic portion on at least one of the cross-sectional images. The processing circuitry receives a setting operation to determine the sectional position. The processing circuitry causes, when the mark is selected in the setting operation, a cross-sectional image to be emphasized a sectional position of which is defined using the characteristic portion corresponding to the mark among the listed cross-sectional images. The processing circuitry performs main imaging based on the sectional position after the setting operation.

The display displays at least a locator image and a reference image. The input interface sets a region of interest on the locator image displayed on the display. The processing circuitry scans a subject to obtain three dimensional data, generates a locator image from the three dimensional data and displaying the locator image on the display, generates a reference image corresponding to the location of the region of interest and displaying the reference image on the display, and makes, when a size or position of the region of interest on one of the locator image and the reference image is changed by the input interface, adjustments to correspondingly change the display magnification or position of the other one of the locator image and the reference image.
