Abstract: In one embodiment, an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes an ultrasonic probe and a a main body. The ultrasonic probe includes at least a plurality of ultrasonic transducers arranged in an array and an ultrasonic lens. The main body inspects the ultrasonic probe by using a reflected signal from an interface between the ultrasonic lens and air, and includes inspection processing circuitry. The inspection processing circuitry is configured to: sequentially select an ultrasonic transducer to be inspected from the plurality of ultrasonic transducers one by one in such a manner that any two ultrasonic transducers being continuously selected are not spatially adjacent but are separated by a predetermined separation distance; cause the selected ultrasonic transducer to transmit an ultrasonic pulse; and sequentially inspect each of the plurality of ultrasonic transducers by acquiring a reflected signal responding to transmission of the ultrasonic pulse from the interface.

The a processing circuitry acquires contact information detected by a plurality of contact sensors provided at different positions on an ultrasonic probe inserted into a body cavity of a subject and causes an output interface to output information representing a state of the ultrasonic probe in the body cavity on the basis of the contact information and the positions of the contact sensors provided on the ultrasonic probe.

Abstract: A test device of an embodiment includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to detect a waveform of a reflected wave that is obtained by reflection of an ultrasonic wave, which has been transmitted from an ultrasonic probe and has passed through an acoustic coupling material in close contact with an acoustic radiation surface of the ultrasonic probe, the reflected wave having passed through the acoustic coupling material before the detection of the waveform, and test a performance of the ultrasonic probe on the basis of the detected waveform.
