Abstract: A polyolefin reactor flashline heater system may include an enclosure, a heating section, and a transformer. The heating section is contained in the enclosure and extends between a first end and a second end. The first end is fluidically coupled to a polyolefin reactor product inlet. The second end is fluidically coupled to a heated product outlet. One or more pipe sections are coupled in series between the first end and the second end. The one or more pipe sections are formed of an electrically conducting material and have a predetermined diameter to transport a polyolefin reactor stream from the first end to the second end. The transformer is electrically coupled to the first end and the second end and configured to heat the heating section by impedance heating. A polymerization system may include a polyolefin reactor coupled to the polyolefin reactor flashline heater system.

Abstract: A hydrocarbon recovery system is integrated with a fluff transfer system. The hydrocarbon recovery system is configured for contacting a wet polymer fluff with a purge gas to provide a purged polymer fluff and an overhead stream, and separating a solids stream, a recovered hydrocarbon stream, and a recovered purge gas from the overhead stream. The polymer fluff transfer system is configured to receive the purged polymer fluff from the hydrocarbon recovery system and transport the purged polymer fluff in the fluff transfer system via circulation of a fluff transfer gas. The hydrocarbon recovery system and the fluff transfer system are integrated by utilizing fluff transfer gas from the fluff transfer system as the purge gas in the hydrocarbon recovery system and/or by utilizing at least a portion of the recovered purge gas from the hydrocarbon recovery system in the fluff transfer system as the fluff transfer gas.

Abstract: Disclosed are a process for operating a flashline heater and a flashline separation system. In the process and system, heat is supplied to the flashline heater by a first steam stage followed by a second steam stage. The steam pressure is controlled by a steam control system such that the pressure in the first steam stage is not equal to the pressure in the second steam stage. Also disclosed is a process for retrofitting a steam control system in a flashline separation system of an olefin polymerization system at least by changing the number of steam stages in the flashline separation system to include a first steam stage followed by a second steam stage, and changing the stream pressure control scheme such that the pressure in the first steam stage is independently controlled to be not equal to the pressure in the second steam stage.

Abstract: A system including a hydrocarbon recovery system integrated with a fluff transfer system, the hydrocarbon recovery system comprising a purge column, a separator, a purge gas-hydrocarbon recovery unit, and a waste gas outlet line, and the fluff transfer system comprising a fluff transfer blower, and an extruder feed tank fluidly connected with the fluff transfer blower via a fluff transfer blower outlet line and fluidly connected with the purge column. The hydrocarbon recovery system can be integrated with the fluff transfer system via a purge column fluff transfer gas inlet line fluidly connecting a purge gas inlet of the purge column with the fluff transfer blower outlet line, such that a portion of the fluff transfer gas in the fluff transfer blower outlet line is introduced into the purge column as purge gas. Make-up gas to the fluff transfer system can come from the hydrocarbon recovery system.
