    Abstract: In an example embodiment, a service that analyzes location information of a client as the client roams. For example, whenever a trigger event occurs, such as a change in the association state, a change in Internet Protocol (IP) address, etc., a determination is made whether the event was expected. If the event was not expected, the location of where the trigger event occurred can be determined enabling a network administrator to investigate roaming problems at a particular location.

    Abstract: In an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein an apparatus comprising a wireless transceiver and a controller coupled to the wireless transceiver and configured to receive data via the wireless transceiver. The controller operates the wireless transceiver at a first power save state where the wireless transceiver can receive a frame but other circuits are de-energized. The controller is responsive to the wireless transceiver receiving a frame while the wireless transceiver is in a first power state to determine whether the frame is a predefined wakeup frame. The controller provides additional power to the wireless transceiver responsive to determining the frame is a predefined wakeup frame.

    Abstract: The direction of movement of a wireless local area network client device, determined based on data generated by one or more sensors onboard the client device, is provided by the client device to its serving access point. Using the direction of movement information, a list is generated of neighbor access points that are likely to be in the path of travel of the client device. The list may be generated by the serving access point or another infrastructure device, e.g., a wireless network controller. The serving access point sends the list of neighbor access points to the client device to enable the client device to select an access point to roam to at the appropriate time.
