Abstract: A client device includes a processor to remotely access a virtual desktop, and to monitor usage of applications displayed within application windows to identify user patterns. The processor maps usage of the applications within the application windows, and displays a recommendation notification notifying the user that a recommended position for at least one of the application windows is available. The at least one application window is repositioned by the processor to the recommended position based on the mapping.

Abstract: A method includes operating a mobile device to establish a communications channel between the mobile device and a shared computing terminal. The shared computing terminal is accessible to a plurality of users other than a user of the mobile device. In response to authentication of the user of the mobile device with a remote computing device, the mobile device receives a code from the remote computing device. The mobile device provides the code to the shared computing terminal via the communications channel to enable the shared computing terminal to request a temporary access token from the remote computing device. The temporary access token is used by the shared computing terminal to launch a computing session with the remote computing device without transfer of a long-lived access token of the user from the mobile device to the shared computing terminal.

Abstract: A computer system includes a client device to remotely access a virtual desktop, and is configured to perform a drag and drop operation. The drag and drop operation is based on launching a plurality of windows on at least one display, and detecting dragging of an object selected by an input device within one of the windows. At least one thumbnail is overlaid on the window with the dragged object, with the at least one thumbnail representing at least one of the other windows that could receive the dragged object. Dropping of the dragged object by the input device onto one of the thumbnails is detected. The dropped object is then moved or copied to the window represented by the thumbnail receiving the dropped object.

Abstract: A computer system includes a client device to remotely access a virtual desktop. The client device is configured to launch application windows on at least one display based on default launch positions, and monitor usage of applications within the application windows to identify user patterns on how the applications are used in various layouts on the at least one display. The various layouts correspond to preferred positions. Usage of the applications within the application windows is mapped, with the mapping including associating the preferred positions to the corresponding default launch positions. At least one of the application windows is repositioned to the preferred position associated therewith based on the mapping in response to the at least one application window not being in the preferred position.
