Abstract: An agricultural system includes a harvester that may include a chopper configured to cut crop residue from the crop. The harvester may also include a fluid applicator configured to apply harvest-aid fluid to the chopper. The agricultural system may also include an application control system that may include a memory and a processor. The application control system may be configured to receive crop harvest data indicative of a density or an expected density of crops within a field. The application control system may also determine a harvest-aid fluid application rate based on the crop harvest data. Further, the application control system may control the fluid applicator to apply the harvest-aid fluid to the chopper based on the harvest-aid fluid application rate.

Abstract: A particle delivery system of an agricultural row unit includes an inner particle belt having a base and a plurality of flights extending outwardly from the base. Each pair of opposing flights of the plurality of flights is configured to receive a particle from a particle metering and singulation unit, and each flight is configured to rotate relative to the base. The particle delivery system includes an outer particle belt having a plurality of apertures, where each flight of the plurality of flights extends through a respective aperture of the plurality of apertures, and the outer particle belt is configured to drive rotation of the flight relative to the base as the inner particle belt and the outer particle belt rotate, such that rotation of the flight relative to the base accelerates the particle toward a trench in soil.

The particle belt is configured to receive the plurality of particles from the particle metering and singulation unit. The selected distance between the particle metering and singulation unit and the particle belt enables the plurality of particles to accelerate under an influence of gravity to a particle speed at the particle belt within a target percentage of a belt speed of the particle belt.

Abstract: In one aspect, a system for adjusting closing disc penetration depth of a seed-planting implement may include a furrow closing assembly having at least one closing disc configured to penetrate the soil in a manner that closes a furrow formed in the soil by the seed-planting implement. The system may also include an actuator configured to adjust a penetration depth of the at least one closing disc. Furthermore, the system may include a controller configured to receive an input indicative of at least one of an operation of the seed-planting implement or a field condition of a field across which the seed-planting implement is being moved. Additionally, the controller may be further configured to control an operation of the actuator in a manner that adjusts the penetration depth of the at least one closing disc based on the received input.

The particle belt is configured to receive the particle accelerated from the particle metering and singulation unit, and the particle acceleration system is configured to apply the force to the particle to accelerate the particle from the particle metering and singulation unit to the particle belt, such that a particle speed of the particle reaches a target particle speed, is within a target percentage of a belt speed of the particle belt, or both, as the particle reaches the particle belt.

Abstract: In one aspect, a system for controlling the operation of rotating ground-engaging components of an agricultural implement may include a rotating ground-engaging component configured to rotate relative to soil within a field as the agricultural implement is moved across the field. The system may also include a rotational speed sensor configured to capture data indicative of a rotational speed of the ground-engaging component. A controller of the system may be configured to monitor a first-order derivative of the rotational speed of the ground-engaging component based on data received from the rotational speed sensor. Moreover, the controller may be configured to determine when a frequency of the monitored first-order derivative falls outside of a predetermined frequency range. Additionally, the controller may be configured to initiate an adjustment of an operating parameter of the ground-engaging component to return the frequency of the first-order derivative to within the predetermined frequency range.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method for pre-emptively adjusting machine parameters based on predicted field conditions may include monitoring an operating parameter of as the agricultural machine makes a first pass across a field. The method may also include initiating active adjustments of the travel speed of the machine based on the operating parameter as the machine makes the first pass. Furthermore, the method may include generating a map based on the travel speed and the operating parameter that included efficiency zones associated with one or more travel speeds. Moreover, the method may include determining predicted efficiency zones for an adjacent second swath within the field based on efficiency zones of the first swath within the field map. Additionally, the method may include pre-emptively initiating adjustments of the travel speed as the machine makes a second pass across the field based on the efficiency parameter for each predicted efficiency zone.

Abstract: A system for calibrating load sensors installed on an agricultural implement. The system includes a load sensor provided in operative association with a ground engaging tool and configured to capture load data indicative of a load applied to the ground-engaging tool. The system also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the load sensor configured to determine first and second load values based on the load data received from the load sensor when the down force actuator is disposed at first and second actuator positions so as to apply first and second down forces, respectively, against the ground engaging tool. The controller is also configured to determine a relationship between the first and second load values and corresponding force values associated with the first down force and the second down force.
