Abstract: This application discloses a separator and a preparation method thereof, a battery, and an electric apparatus. The separator includes a substrate and a coating, where the coating is formed on at least a portion of surface of the substrate, and the coating includes composite particles and a binder. Crosslinking degree a of the composite particles and mass swelling degree b thereof in an electrolyte satisfy a/b≥1 and a≥75%.
