摘要: Methods and systems, using a controller (20), for performing de-rate operation of an engine (12) is disclosed. Controller (20) includes a de-rate condition detection unit (204), an operational parameter adjustment unit (206), and a de-rate condition monitoring unit (208). De-rate condition detection unit (204) detects a low fuel condition based on a current delivery pressure level of the engine (12) detected at least one of: in a fuel tank (24) and along an inlet fuel rail (38) connecting the fuel tank (24) to the engine (12). Operational parameter adjustment unit (206) performs the de-rate operation on the engine (12) by adjusting one or more operational parameters related to an engine (12) load based on the detected low fuel condition. De-rate condition monitoring unit (208) monitors the detected low fuel condition for a predetermined time period in response to the operational parameter adjustment performed by operational parameter adjustment unit (206).

摘要: A fuel system controller obtains fuel burn data from an engine control module (ECM). The fuel system controller also obtains location data from a telematics control module, such as GPS location data identifying the location of a vehicle. The fuel system controller determines the vehicle's base location based on the location data, and determines how far the vehicle can travel based on the fuel burn data. The fuel system controller determines how many fueling stations are with a threshold distance of the determined distance to empty. The fuel system controller can use that data to identify which, and how many, fueling stations are within a threshold distance of the determined distance to empty. The fuel system controller can provide a fueling warning indication based on the number of fueling stations that are within the determined distance to empty.

Systems for extending the range of the vehicle are also disclosed.

摘要: Platooning vehicles can result in operational cost savings. Disclosed is a method of apportioning costs that are incurred/saved as a result of platooning vehicles, as well as assigning penalties for unfair platoon participation. For example, platooning history of a vehicle can be tracked, and if that vehicle acts too often as a trailing vehicle in a series of platoons then a penalty might be assigned to that vehicle. Also disclosed is a technique for operating a platoon in the presence of external factors such as municipal regulations, merging traffic, emergency vehicles, etc.

A computing device includes one or more processors configured to receive first battery data related to a first battery of a first vehicle, where the first vehicle is part of the fleet of vehicles, and compare the first battery data to fleet battery data related to one or more other batteries of vehicles in the fleet of vehicles. Based on the comparison a second vehicle in the fleet is determined in which to switch the first battery to improve battery life of the batteries of the fleet.
