Abstract: A telecommunication radio frequency channel evaluation tool, software and method of creating the tool are disclosed. The tool identifies restrictions associated with incumbent users of spectral bandwidth within a shared spectrum and assesses channel availability for third party transmitters in the shared spectrum. Generally, the tool comprises a database of incumbent users' locations and corresponding protection areas within a geographic area, population density within the geographic area, and restrictions on third party transmissions associated with each of the incumbent users.

Abstract: A cross-scheduling resource allocation method for NOMA-based DSS is provided for a first wireless technology carrier and a different second wireless technology carrier co-existing on a same network communication channel. The method includes providing a resource subframe the first carrier within the channel at a specified bandwidth and duration, synchronizing the second wireless carrier to the specified duration within the specified bandwidth, allocating first PRBs within a first portion of the specified bandwidth for the first technology user traffic and second PRBs within a second non-overlapping portion of the specified bandwidth for the second technology user traffic, programming a frequency gap between the first PRBs and the second PRBs, obtaining channel information regarding the target communication channel, and dynamically adjusting the programmed frequency gap based on the obtained channel information.

Abstract: A communications network includes a central communication unit, an optical transport medium, and a plurality of remote radio base stations. The central communication unit generates, within a selected millimeter-wave frequency band, a plurality of adjacent two-tone optical frequency conjugate pairs. Each conjugate pair includes a first optical tone carrying a modulated data signal, and a second optical tone carrying a reference local oscillator signal. The optical transport medium transports the plurality of two-tone conjugate pairs to the plurality of radio base stations, and each base station receives at least one conjugate pair at an optical front end thereof. The optical front end separates the first optical tone from the second optical tone, and converts the first optical tone into a millimeter-wave radio frequency electrical signal. The base station further includes a radio antenna system for wirelessly transmitting the millimeter-wave radio frequency electrical signal to at least one wireless receiving device.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for use of spectrum emission masks to allow for two or more devices to coexist on a common communication bandwidth. The spectrum emission masks may include one, two, or three interior attenuation regions that, when implemented by a transmitting device, significantly reduce the transmission power in the interior attenuation regions. The interior attenuation regions may transmit to interior channels that separate one, two, or three outer channels of a plurality of channels spanning the common communication bandwidth.
