Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus according to an embodiment includes an image obtaining unit, a contour position obtaining unit, a volume information calculating unit, and a controlling unit. The image obtaining unit obtains a plurality of groups of two-dimensional ultrasound image data each of which is generated by performing ultrasound scans, the ultrasound scans being performed on each of a plurality of predetermined cross-sectional planes, and performed for predetermined time. The contour position obtaining unit obtains, by performing a tracking process over the predetermined time period, time-series data of contour positions, the contour positions being either one of, or both of, a cavity interior and a cavity exterior of a predetermined site. The volume information calculating unit calculates, on a basis of a plurality of the time-series data of contour positions, volume information of the predetermined site. The controlling unit exercises control so as to output the volume information.

In the two-dimensional coordinate space, the processing circuitry allocates the function index value of the each heart chamber to each display dimension corresponding to the each heart chamber and defines the functional index value of the left ventricle as an output coordinate. In the range suggestion image, the processing circuitry colors the range suggestion image according to predetermined normal range and abnormal range for the functional index value of the left ventricle.

Abstract: In an ultrasound diagnosis apparatus according to an embodiment, processing circuitry obtains volume data corresponding to at least one cardiac cycle and being taken of a region including the right ventricle of a patient. The processing circuitry estimates motion information of a tissue in the region by using the volume data. The processing circuitry outputs the calculated information. The processing circuitry corrects first motion information of the right ventricular outflow tract, which is an outflow tract of the right ventricle, by using second motion information of a site that is positioned in the vicinity of the right ventricular outflow tract and exhibits motion similar to that of the right ventricular outflow tract.

Abstract: In an ultrasound diagnosis apparatus according to an embodiment, processing circuitry obtains volume video data of a patient acquired by a transesophageal echocardiography probe. The processing circuitry sets, with the volume video data, a three-dimensional coordinate system that matches a display orientation of image data of the patient acquired by a body-surface ultrasound probe, on the basis of a positional relationship between the transesophageal echocardiography probe and the patient. The processing circuitry causes a display screen to display image data generated from the volume video data by using the set three-dimensional coordinate system. The processing circuitry receives, from an operator, a designation related to calculating movement information in a region of interest of the patient, the designation being received in an image displayed on the display screen. The processing circuitry calculates the movement information by performing processing including a tracking process, while using the volume video data.
