Abstract: Systems/techniques that facilitate two-tiered machine learning generation of birth risk score are provided. In various embodiments, a system can access a plurality of medical feature collections associated with a pregnant patient. In various aspects, the system can generate, via execution of a plurality of first trained machine learning models, a plurality of embedded features based on the plurality of medical feature collections. In various instances, the system can compute, via execution of a second trained machine learning model, a risk score based on the plurality of embedded features, wherein the risk score indicates an amount of risk to a health of the pregnant patient or a health of a fetus of the pregnant patient that is associated with performing a caesarian-section on the pregnant patient or with waiting for the pregnant patient to give birth naturally.

Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring a heartbeat of a fetus comprises a memory comprising instruction data representing a set of instructions, and a processor configured to communicate with the memory and to execute the set of instructions. The set of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: i) obtain ultrasound image data from an ultrasound transducer, ii) determine a location of the heart of the fetus in the ultrasound image data, iii) send a message to the ultrasound transducer to instruct the ultrasound transducer to switch to a Doppler mode, wherein the determined location of the heart of the fetus is used to set the target location of the Doppler mode, and iv) monitor the heartbeat of the fetus using ultrasound data obtained in the Doppler mode.

Abstract: Systems and methods of maternal and fetal monitoring include acquiring ultrasound physiological data with an ultrasound transducer. A plurality of electrodes acquire biopotential physiological data from the skin of a patient. A controller receives the ultrasound and biopotential physiological data and calculates fetal heart rate (fHR) values, maternal heart rate (mHR) values, and uterine activity (UA) values from the ultrasound and biopotential physiological data.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for providing continuous, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring. A wearable monitoring device includes first and second transducer arrays separated by a fixed distance. Each of the transducer arrays includes a plurality of independent transducer elements for transmitting and receiving ultrasound energy. When a user wears the device, the transducers are positioned near the brachial artery. The device operates to measure the transit time of a cardiac pulse through the brachial artery and across the fixed distance between transducer arrays. The measured pulse transit time may then be used for determining pulse wave velocity and/or blood pressure.

Abstract: A method of fetal ultrasound monitoring includes detecting contact of a first ultrasound transducer to a mother’s abdomen based on input from a contact sensor in the first ultrasound transducer. A first transducer identifier is received from the first ultrasound transducer, and then the first transducer identifier is correlated with a first transducer label. A first heart rate is measured based on output of an ultrasound device in the first ultrasound transducer, and a heart rate indicator is displayed accordingly. A position of the first ultrasound transducer is identified in a two-dimensional plane, and the first transducer label is displayed on an abdomen image based on the first position.

Abstract: A fully automated ultrasound apparatus includes a sensor or probe which can be initially manually attached to a side of the neck of a patient, an ultrasound interface to control the sensor and periodically acquire raw ultrasound data, a signal and image processing system to autonomously convert the raw ultrasound data into a measurement that is useful to physicians, and a display to relay the current measurements and measurement history to provide data trends. The sensor can include one or more ultrasound transducers built into a housing. A disposable component can serve to secure the sensor to the neck of the patient and to provide a coupling medium between the sensor and the skin of the patient.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein relate to techniques for guiding an operator to use an ultrasound device. Thereby, operators with little or no experience operating ultrasound devices may capture medically relevant ultrasound images and/or interpret the contents of the obtained ultrasound images. For example, some of the techniques disclosed herein may be used to identify a particular anatomical view of a subject to image with an ultrasound device, guide an operator of the ultrasound device to capture an ultrasound image of the subject that contains the particular anatomical view, and/or analyze the captured ultrasound image to identify medical information about the subject.
