Abstract:
A shaft seal for disposition between a shaft mounted for rotation and a bore includes a radial shaft-sealing sleeve assembly rotatably mounted with an outer carrier assembly. The radial shaft-sealing sleeve assembly includes a radial shaft-sealing sleeve and a first contact exclusion lip. The outer carrier assembly includes an outer carrier with a molded seal along having an outer radial section of the outer carrier and an elongated molded seal lip extending into a chamber formed between the radial shaft-sealing sleeve and the outer carrier, a second contact exclusion lip, and a main pumping lip. The first contact exclusion lip forming a dynamic seal against the outer carrier, and the second contact exclusion lip and main pumping lip forming dynamic seals against the radial shaft-sealing sleeve.
Abstract:
A valve system includes a guide member having a passage, a seal member positioned relative to the passage, and a valve stem disposed within the guide member passage to move axially relative to the guide member and the seal member. The seal member has an inner circumferential surface defining a bore, an outer circumferential surface, and an intermediate seal portion therebetween. The intermediate seal portion includes a first axial end surface and a second axial end surface. The seal member further includes a ramp on at least one of the first axial end surface and the second axial end surface. The ramp is descending from the inner circumferential surface to one of the intermediate seal portion or the outer circumferential surface.
Abstract:
A layered carrier seal assembly includes a retainer, a sealing path, and a seal element. The retainer has a plurality of layers and the retainer has a top and bottom surface. The sealing path is disposed along the retainer and includes a plurality of seal slots. Each seal slot is defined by a seal slot wall forming the seal slot through the retainer. The seal element is disposed along the sealing path on the top surface and the bottom surface. The seal element disposed on the top surface is interconnected to the seal element disposed on the bottom surface via the plurality of seal slots.
Abstract:
An integrated seal assembly includes an aperture defined. A carrier includes a generally planar support portion and a contact zone portion formed integral to the support portion. The contact zone portion extends radially of the support portion and terminates adjacent the aperture. A resilient seal portion is formed integrally on at least the contact zone portion and defines the aperture, the resilient seal portion providing an upper support zone and a lower support zone respectively on opposite sides of the assembly.
Abstract:
A tube assembly is provided for connecting a tube with an external system. The tube assembly includes a spherical flange that is attached to the end of the tube in various ways. The spherical flange can include a triangular shaped groove that receives the sealing member. The spherical flange is then inserted into a cup flange with the tube connected thereto. Connecting members are used to couple the captive flange and the cup flange together to help restrict the degrees of rotation or movement of the spherical flange to about 5° to 9° in relation to an axis.
Abstract:
A seal device includes a seal member configured to seal a first component and a second component and a tab member formed on a seal member perimeter. The tab member is configured to extend substantially outward from the seal member perimeter to a respective component perimeter. The seal member and the tab member are formed from a mixture of a seal compound and a characteristic changing compound. The tab member is configured to provide a visual indication of seal integrity without separating the first component and the second component.
