摘要: A hydrophilic porous polymer film is disclosed that is particularly well-suited for use in an electrolysis cell producing hydrogen. The porous polymer film contains one or more high-density polyethylene polymers in combination with one or more hydrophilic additives. The porous film can be formed through a gel extrusion process or through sintering. Extremely thin films can be produced that have desired permeability characteristics, hydrophilicity characteristics, and mechanical characteristics necessary for use in the cell.

摘要: A polymer composition is disclosed that is particularly formulated for producing gel extruded articles containing a high density polyethylene polymer. In one embodiment, the polymer composition is used to produce a porous membrane or film well suited for use as an ion separator in an electronic device, such as a battery. The polymer composition contains a molecular weight retention package that preserves the molecular weight of the polyethylene polymer during extrusion.

摘要: A polymer composition for producing gel extruded articles is described. The polymer composition contains at least three different polyethylene polymers, namely a lower molecular weight polyethylene polymer, a mid-range molecular weight polyethylene polymer, and a high molecular weight polyethylene polymer. Combining the different polyethylene polymers in different ratios can optimize not only mechanical properties but improve processing.
